I'm looking to upgrade the rims on my Tesla Model Y and would love some recommendations. What are the best rim sizes and styles for both performance and aesthetics? TIA.
Just my two cents: stick with 19" if range is important to you. I tried both 19" and 20" options, and the larger wheels, while they look amazing, did impact my range more than I was comfortable with for daily driving. The sweet spot seems to be lightweight 19" wheels with decent aero characteristics.
Did this last week, worked perfectly
Forgestar F14: Available in 20x9.5 size with a +29 offset, known for its stylish design and performance.
I've had my Model Y for 2 years now and upgraded to Vossen HF-5 20" wheels. Perfect balance of performance and looks. The stock 19" wheels are decent for range, but the 20" sweet spot gives you better handling without destroying your range. Just avoid going to 21"+ unless you're purely focused on looks - you'll feel every bump and lose significant range.
Recently switched to Vossen HF-5s in satin black (20"). Stunning look that completely transformed my MY, but there's definitely a range hit of 7-10%. Also needed to be careful with potholes. Not cheap at around $3K for the set, but the quality is outstanding. If you prioritize looks over maximum range, I'd highly recommend.
