I’ve recently taken delivery of my Model X, and while I love the car, I’m a bit paranoid about the key fob. It feels a little slippery in my hand, and I’m worried about dropping it or getting it all scratched up in my pocket. I’ve looked at some silicone options, but they just don't feel premium enough for the car. I’m really leaning towards a high-quality leather cover that matches the interior aesthetic.

I’ve seen a few brands online like Topfit and some handmade options on Etsy, but it’s hard to tell the quality from just the photos. I’m looking for something that fits snugly so the fob doesn't slide around, and ideally, it shouldn't interfere with the signal or make the buttons too hard to press. I'm willing to spend a bit more for genuine leather that will age well and provide decent drop protection.

Has anyone found a specific leather cover that they absolutely love? Does it stay securely attached to your keychain, and how has the leather held up over time with daily use?

Honestly, I totally get the paranoia. I've had my Model X for years, and unfortunately, most leather covers I tried were pretty disappointing because they blocked the sensors. That said, I finally settled on the Olycism Genuine Leather Key Fob Cover for Tesla Model X. It's actually real leather, fits like a glove, and hasn't interfered with the signal at all. It feels much more premium than those cheap silicone ones, though the leather does scuff a bit over time!

Honestly, I've had a rough time finding the "perfect" one too. I spent way too much on a fancy handmade sleeve from Etsy that ended up being too thick to even press the buttons—total waste of money!

If you're looking for value and function, I'd suggest:

- Ontto Genuine Leather Key Fob Cover for Tesla Model X - It's around $20. The leather is decent, and it actually fits tight so it doesn't feel bulky in your pocket.
- Vancover Leather Key Fob Case for Tesla Model X - This one is a bit more rugged if you're worried about drops, though it's not quite as "premium" feeling as the high-end stuff.

Personally, I'm still looking for that "holy grail" leather, but the Ontto is the best balance of price and protection I've found so far! 🚗

In my experience, finding a leather cover that actually feels premium is harder than it looks. Honestly, I’ve been through a few that were total disappointments. I initially tried the Topfit Genuine Leather Key Fob Cover for Tesla Model X, which costs about $15-$20. While it looked okay in photos, the leather felt pretty thin and started peeling at the edges after just three months. Definitely not the "premium" vibe I wanted for a Model X.

After that letdown, I switched to the Abstract Ocean Leather Key Fob Cover for Tesla Model X. It’s a bit pricier at around $25, but the quality is night and day. It uses a much thicker, genuine leather that has developed a nice patina over the last year.

Here’s the deal on why I like it:
- **Fitment:** It fits like a glove. No sliding around, which was my biggest gripe with cheaper ones.
- **Signal:** I haven't noticed any signal interference at all. Doors still open as they should.
- **Protection:** I’ve dropped my keys on concrete twice (ugh, I know), and the cover took the hit perfectly. Not a scratch on the fob itself.

One small thing though—the buttons can feel a tiny bit stiffer at first, but once the leather breaks in, it’s fine. If you want something even more high-end, check out some of the Handmade Horween Leather Tesla Key Fob Covers on Etsy. They’re usually $40+, but teh quality is unbeatable if you're okay with the bulkier stitching. Hope this helps!
