Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Tesla Model S, and while I absolutely love the interior, I’m getting a bit paranoid about the dashboard screen. Between the fingerprints and the glare during midday drives, it’s starting to get a little distracting. I’ve noticed a few tiny hairline scratches already, and I want to protect it before things get worse.

I’ve been looking at a few options online, but I’m torn between getting a tempered glass protector or one of those matte/anti-glare films. My main concern is maintaining the touch sensitivity and the incredible clarity of the display—I don't want anything that makes the screen look grainy or dull. Also, I’m a bit nervous about the installation process; I really want to avoid those annoying bubbles or misalignment since it’s such a focal point of the cabin.

Does anyone have a specific brand they swear by? I’m looking for something durable that fits perfectly edge-to-edge. Have you found that matte protectors actually help with the sun glare, or should I stick with clear tempered glass for the best look? Any tips on the easiest one to install would be amazing!

Seconding the recommendation above!! Spigen is definitely the GOAT for easy installs. But yeah, if you're looking for a budget-friendly alternative that's just as technical, check out the Topfit Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Tesla Model S Refresh 17 inch. It’s usually around $25, has 9H hardness, and the clarity is basically perfect. Plus, it's way cheaper if you mess up the first try lol. Good luck!

Late to the party but honestly, I've tried many different setups over the years and it basically comes down to what you value more: crystal clear looks or zero glare. In my experience, if you're doing a lot of midday driving, you've gotta go with a matte finish. Check out some of the YouTube comparison videos from channels like JerryRigEverything or even just search "Tesla screen protector comparison" on Reddit for some real-world photos.

You might find this useful—there's a great resource at the TMC (Tesla Motors Club) forums where they have massive threads comparing brands like Hansshow or Taptes. Personally, I'd say just get any matte protector from a reputable brand like Basenor or even Tesmanian. Matte films are SO much better for fingerprints, though they can make the screen look a tiny bit grainier. If you want that "invisible" look, stick with clear tempered glass, but honestly, the glare will drive you crazy. Pro tip: whatever you buy, install it after a hot shower in the bathroom to keep the dust down. Good luck!!

Honestly, I've been through this and you gotta be careful because the Model S screen is basically the whole car lol. I've tried both styles and here's the deal: if you want that factory look, go with Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector GLAS.tR EZ Fit for Tesla Model S/X 17 inch. It's super clear and the installation frame makes it impossible to mess up the alignment. But if glare is your main enemy, I'd suggest Abstract Ocean Matte Screen Protector for Tesla Model S Refresh 17 inch. Matte definitely helps with the sun, but be warned—it DOES make the screen look a tiny bit grainier than the clear glass. I personally stick with the Spigen one cuz it feels more premium under my fingers and the clarity is 10/10. Just make sure to use the dust stickers! gl!

Seconding the recommendation above for Spigen, but tbh if you're worried about safety and glare, you gotta look at the ScreenProTech Tesla Model S Screen Protector Kit. I mean, glass is cool, but a high-quality film actually handles impact better without cracking, you know?

I've found that:
* Matte films are literally a lifesaver for midday sun glare.
* They hide fingerprints way better than clear glass.
* Application is usually 'wet,' so you can slide it into a perfect fit.

It's a solid, practical choice that won't mess with the touch sensitivity or make things look blurry. Plus, it's pretty durable for long-term use, right? gl!

Totally agree with what has been said about the matte finish being a game changer for fingerprints and sun glare. Just adding my two cents on something I ran into tho... make sure you double check the fitment for your specific model year before you buy. The sensor placement on the refresh landscape screens is a bit different than the older vertical ones, and if the protector covers the ambient light sensor, your auto-brightness is gonna act all wonky. Ive seen people complain about their screen being way too dim during the day just because the film or glass was blocking that sensor. Just something to keep in mind so you dont end up frustrated with the tech!
