The heat coming through that huge ID. Buzz windshield is intense! I’m looking for a custom-fit shade that won't sag or be a nightmare to store under the seat. Has anyone found a high-quality brand that fits the unique shape perfectly? I’d love to know what you’re using to keep your cabin cool!

Honestly, the heat is insane! I tried a cheap universal shade at first and it was a total disaster—unfortunately it just sagged and didn't cover the corners at all. Basically a waste of money imo. I'd suggest going with the WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade for Volkswagen ID. Buzz. It's more of a budget stretch but actually fits that massive glass. It feels pretty sturdy and doesn't fall down, plus it's way cheaper than those fancy motorized ones tho!

Ok so I'm jumping in here because from a safety perspective, you literally gotta be careful with the ID. Buzz cuz that massive windshield creates a HUGE solar load which can actually damage the dash electronics over time!! Seriously, I'm obsessed with the specs and found that Covercraft Custom UVS100 Sunscreen - Silver is the best because it has a high-density foam core that acts as a thermal barrier. It fits the glass dimensions perfectly so it doesn't slip or obstruct the sensors near the mirror—safety first, right? Honestly, it's kinda bulky to store but totally worth it to keep the cabin temps stable and protect your interior from UV degradation!

For your situation, oh man, I totally feel u... that ID. Buzz windshield is basically a greenhouse!! I struggled with the same heat issue when I first got mine. It was getting so hot that I couldnt even touch the steering wheel after it sat for an hour in the sun, you know?

Honestly, my current setup is a custom-fit one that I found online after a lot of trial and error. I first tried one of those cheap universal ones from a local shop but it was a total disaster—way too small and just slumped down constantly lol. Then I tried a thin folding one, but it felt flimsy and didnt really block the heat as well as I wanted.

Eventually, I went with a much thicker, silver-backed shade that’s specifically cut for the Buzz's weirdly deep dash. It’s got a stiff core so it doesnt sag at all, which is the most important thing with a window that huge. Storage is basically the only annoying part cuz it is pretty bulky, but it fits okay behind the front seats or in the trunk area. Tbh, I'd rather deal with a big shade than a melted interior, right? I'd highkey suggest looking for something with a multi-layered design... makes a MASSIVE difference in the actual cabin temp. Just make sure it has those cutouts for the sensors near the mirror... iirc some of the cheaper ones block the cameras. Good luck!

Quick question - are you looking for the folding accordion style or the ones that twist into a circle?? I've tried many over the years and it basically comes down to storage space.
