Picked up my ID.4 Pro S last week and I am already stressed about keeping it clean. I live in Seattle so its constant rain and I have a 70lb lab mix who thinks the back seat is his mud pit. Stuck between the official VW MuddyBuddy mats or just going with WeatherTech like I had in my old car. The VW ones look nicer but I dont know if they actually trap enough water?
Also deciding on a dashcam. Thinking about that integrated FitCamX vs a Garmin Mini. Budget is around $400 for everything right now since the down payment killed my savings lol. Which ones actually fit the 2023 model best...
I love the WeatherTech FloorLiner Floor Mats! They're so reliable for safety and cheaper than VW. The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 1080p is a total steal too!
> The VW ones look nicer but I dont know if they actually trap enough water? I am a bit concerned about going with standard liners if you have a big dog in a rainy climate like Seattle. Honestly, I would suggest looking at TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for Volkswagen ID.4 instead of the ones mentioned earlier. WeatherTech is okay, but they dont cover the vertical carpet as well, and that is where the mud and hair actually get stuck. You gotta be careful with the side walls because once that fabric gets wet, the smell is hard to get out. For the dashcam, I would suggest the FitCamX Dash Cam 4K for Volkswagen ID.4 over a generic stick-on. It replaces the mirror housing, so you dont have wires hanging down which can be a safety hazard or a distraction. Just make sure to take your time with the plastic clips so you dont break the housing during the swap. It stays within your budget and keeps the interior looking stock.
Like someone mentioned, mats are fine, but the 165-pound technical load rating for the roof rails is amazing for safety! I once lost a kayak in Oregon. Anyway lol.
