Essential center console organizers for the new Volvo C40 EV?

Hey everyone! I just took delivery of my new Volvo C40 Recharge last week, and while I am absolutely in love with the minimalist Scandinavian interior and that panoramic roof, I’m struggling a bit with the center console storage. As beautiful as the cabin is, the deep cubby under the armrest feels like a bit of a 'black hole' where my keys, sunglasses, and charging cables immediately disappear.

I’ve noticed that because the C40 shares its interior bones with the XC40, there are quite a few aftermarket options out there, but I’m worried about fitment and quality. I’m really looking for something that maintains that premium Volvo feel—I don't want cheap, rattling plastic ruining the quiet EV experience. Specifically, I’m looking for a tiered tray for the main console bin so I can keep my smaller items like toll passes and lip balm within reach without digging.

Also, has anyone found a clever solution for the space tucked under the infotainment screen? It’s a great spot for the wireless charger, but it tends to get cluttered with receipts or masks. I’m trying to keep the aesthetic as clean as possible while making the car more functional for my daily commute. I’ve looked at a few options on Amazon and some 3D-printed designs on Etsy, but I’d love to hear from fellow C40 owners who have actually used them.

Does anyone have specific recommendations for center console organizer inserts or glovebox dividers that fit the C40 perfectly without blocking the USB-C ports? I’d love to know which brands or specific products you’ve found to be 'essential' for keeping your interior organized!

Hey! Congrats on the new C40! I totally get it, that center bin is basically a cavern. I just got mine too and was super worried about scratching the interior or having stuff rattle around... it literally drives me crazy lol.

So, I picked up the Vesul Center Console Organizer Tray for 2022-2024 Volvo C40 and it's been okay so far, but honestly, you gotta be careful when installing these. Since it's just plastic, I'm kinda paranoid it might rub against the trim over time? I added some tiny felt pads on the edges just to be safe. It definitely helps with the "black hole" problem tho!

For that space under the screen, I tried a 3D-printed bin from Etsy but it felt a bit cheap... so I switched to the SINSUN Center Console Storage Box for Volvo XC40 C40. It fits way more snug. Just make sure you dont block the wireless pad cooling vents!! Have you noticed if your phone gets really hot when charging in there? I'm still trying to figure out if these trays make the heat worse or not. Good luck with the organization! 👍

Ok so, congrats on the C40! I've been driving mine for six months and honestly, that center console is a TOTAL black hole. Before you buy anything, you gotta realize the XC40/C40 console is unique because of that removable trash bin in front of the armrest. If you get a tray that's too deep, it blocks the bin or makes the USB-C ports a pain to reach.

For your situation, I would suggest looking at two different vibes. First, there's the SXCY Center Console Organizer Tray for 2024 Volvo C40. I like this one because it has high-quality rubber liners that actually match the Volvo blue or grey interior colors. It's way better than the generic unbranded ones because it doesn't rattle on bumpy roads—which is huge in a quiet EV.

Another option is the Spigen Glas.tR Center Console Storage Organizer. Spigen is known for phone cases, but their car gear is lowkey amazing. It feels more "premium" than the Etsy 3D-printed stuff which can sometimes look a bit rough or warp in the sun.

For that weird space under the screen? Be careful with the silicone mats. Some of them are too thick and actually mess with the wireless charging speeds or cause the phone to overheat. I ended up using a Shaohao Volvo C40 Non-Slip Anti-Dust Mats Set which includes a tiny custom-fit piece for that exact cubby. It keeps masks from sliding around without looking cluttered. Just make sure to wipe the area down with alcohol first so it sticks! gl with the organization!

Ok so, before I give advice, I gotta ask—are you mostly using the wireless pad for your phone, or do you tend to plug in via the USB-C ports for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto? Since the C40 is basically a tech hub on wheels, knowing how much cable clutter youre dealing with really changes which organizers actually work without getting in the way lol.

I'm honestly sooo satisfied with my C40, but I totally get the "black hole" struggle. I'm a bit of a nerd for technical specs, so I looked for stuff that wouldnt rattle. If youre on a budget, you basically have two routes. Option A is the Skitu Center Console Organizer Tray for Volvo XC40 C40. It's super cheap (usually under $20) and basically fits like a glove. The pro is the price, but the con is that it's just basic ABS plastic, so it feels a bit less "premium" than the rest of the car.

Option B, which I highkey prefer for the clean aesthetic, is looking at some of the higher-end silicone-lined options like the Sresky Center Console Insert Tray for Volvo C40 Recharge. The silicone liners are great cuz they stop coins and keys from rattling during quiet EV driving, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. It's a few bucks more but worth it for the silence tbh. Also, for that space under the screen, maybe check out a Yidong Magnetic Car Tissue Holder? It fits tucked away and keeps masks/receipts from sliding around the charging pad. Let me know about the cable situation and I can dig up some more precise specs for ya! 👍

Quick question—have you checked if the 3D-printed stuff you're looking at is made from PETG or just basic PLA? Honestly, I'm a bit cautious about those because I've had issues where cheap 3D-printed parts literally warped or melted in the summer heat... not great for a brand-new car, right?

Before I give advice on the specific bins, here are some safety-first warnings to keep in mind:

* **Avoid heavy metal trays:** If they aren't secured perfectly, they can become a projectile or just rattle incessantly, which totally kills that quiet EV vibe.
* **Port Access:** Some deep inserts can actually block airflow or crowd the USB-C ports, potentially causing your cables to overheat if they're bent at weird angles.
* **Fire Safety:** I'd stay away from unbranded silicone mats that smell like chemicals; they're often not automotive-grade.

Idk, I'm just wary of ruining that premium feel. Are you planning on keeping the OEM trash bin in place, or are you looking to replace that whole section? It definitely changes which organizers will actually fit correctly!
