So I just picked up a used V90 Cross Country and honestly the trunk area is way bigger than I expected and I have no clue what to do with it. I am planning a road trip to Maine next month for some hiking and I'm super worried about my muddy boots ruining the carpet back there. My logic was that I should just buy whatever Volvo sells but their website is kinda confusing and everything costs a fortune. I have maybe $300 or $400 to spend on this stuff. Do I need a rubber mat or some kind of tray thing? Also what do people use to stop bags from sliding around? I literally dont know where to start looking for this stuff...
Quick reply while I have a sec. You gotta be careful with the dimensions on the V90 because the floor depth can vary slightly depending on whether you have the spare tire or just the repair kit underneath. If you're hitting Maine, you really need to prioritize material durability and chemical resistance for all that road salt. I would suggest looking at these two options:
Building on the earlier suggestion, you definitely need to skip the dealer prices! I honestly love the WeatherTech Cargo Liner for Volvo V90 2017-2024 because it is so reliable and keeps the mess contained. For the sliding issue, the Stayhold Cargo Organizer Super Pack is a total lifesaver and super budget-friendly. It is seriously amazing how well those things grip the floor!
Checking back in on this... Honestly, I was pretty let down by the OEM stuff when I first got my V90. The official mats are okay, but they're not nearly deep enough for real mud or spills. If you're heading to Maine, those shallow lips wont catch much. Its frustrating because for the price Volvo charges, you'd expect better coverage. Luckily, there are way better ways to spend that $400:
I'm super satisfied with the official gear. It fits perfectly and handles muddy boots no problem.
