Just got an XC90 Recharge and I'm totally lost. We're heading to the coast in 10 days and need a rack but I'm scared of damaging the roof.
- do I need special hybrid parts?
- which brand is safest?
I have no clue what I'm doing and don't want to mess up a brand new car...

In my experience, Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Black ROOF RACKS are basically the best value for an XC90. Saved me a fortune compared to the dealer gear over the years.

Honestly, you dont need special hybrid parts, the roof rails are standard. I was super paranoid about scratching my roof too...
- Thule WingBar Edge Integrated Roof Rack
- Super quiet and looks like it came from the factory.
- Yakima JetStream Aerodynamic Crossbars
- Very sturdy and handle heavy loads well. I went with Thule just for the peace of mind... it fits the Volvo perfectly.

When I first got my XC90, I spent hours obsessing over load ratings and how different profiles affect my MPGe. Basically, just go with any Volvo Load Carriers or a Thule setup. Sticking with the Swedish brands usually ensures the fitment is perfect and won't mess with your panoramic glass.
