Best ceramic brake pads for BMW 4 Series?

I’m getting pretty tired of the heavy brake dust on my BMW 4 Series stock pads—my M-Sport wheels are black within two days of washing! I'm looking to switch to ceramic pads to keep things cleaner, but I don't want to sacrifice too much of that initial 'bite' the OEM pads have. I’ve been looking at options like Akebono Euro or Hawk Performance, but I’m worried about fitment for the blue M-Sport calipers. Has anyone made the switch recently? I'm mainly a spirited street driver, not hitting the track. Which ceramic brand offers the best balance of low dust and solid stopping power for a F32/G22? Any specific model numbers you’d recommend?

In my experience, you have to be really careful when swapping to ceramics on these BMWs. I've tried many different setups over the years, and while I totally get the frustration with those dusty M-Sport wheels, there's a serious safety trade-off to consider. Honestly, if you're used to that aggressive OEM 'bite,' switching to Akebono Euro Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads might feel a bit scary at first because the initial response is much softer.

I'd suggest looking into the Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads instead; they tend to keep more of that sporty feel while cutting the dust significantly. However, a big warning: make sure you verify your exact caliper type before buying! The F32/G22 blue M-Sport brakes use different shapes than the base grey ones, and getting the wrong backing plate is a common DIY nightmare. FWIW, I always tell people to double-check fitment on a site like RealOEM first. Anyway, back to your question—just be prepared for a longer bed-in process with ceramics. Good luck!

For your situation, I'd honestly look at PowerStop Z23 Evolution Sport Carbon-Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads. I swapped to these on my F32 M-Sport and they're a total bargain compared to the big names. You get a massive reduction in dust for about $100-120 a set, and while the bite is a tiny bit smoother than OEM, it's plenty for spirited street driving. Just double-check your caliper size before ordering, but fitment was spot on for my blue Brembos!
