Essential paint protection accessories for an RS 6 Avant?

I’ve finally placed my order for an RS 6 Avant, and since this is a dream car for me, I’m terrified of those first few stone chips on that massive front grille and flared fenders. I’m definitely planning on a full front PPF wrap and ceramic coating, but I’m wondering what other specific accessories or bits of kit you guys recommend to keep the paint pristine? Are splash guards a must-have given how wide the tires are, or do they ruin the lines? I’m also looking for any specific interior protection for the high-traffic areas. For those who have lived with the car for a while, what are the absolute must-have protection items I should install on day one?

Seconding the recommendation above for sure!! But honestly, since you're worried about safety and keeping it pristine, you HAVE to think about the windshield. It's such a massive piece of glass on the RS 6 and super prone to cracking from stone impacts. I'd definitely look into Stek DynoFlex Windshield Protection Film. It's a lifesaver for those high-speed highway runs. Also, check out ExoShield Windshield Protection as a solid alternative. Replacing these HUD-equipped windshields is a nightmare and can mess with your safety sensors, so better safe than sorry, right? gl!!

Oh man, congrats on the order!! The RS 6 is literally the dream. I totally get the anxiety about that first chip... it's like a punch to the gut when you see it on those flared fenders. Honestly, I'm kinda new to the high-end detailing world, but I've been obsessing over this since I got my own car.

For your situation, I would suggest looking at splash guards vs. extra PPF layers. Here is what I've found:

* **Option A: Splash Guards.** Basically, you can get something like Audi RS6 Avant Genuine Splash Guards or aftermarket ones from Automotive Passion Carbon Fiber Arch Guards. Pros: They save your rear fenders from being sandblasted by the wide tires. Cons: Some people think they ruin the sleek lines, but honestly, the carbon ones look pretty sick and lowkey.
* **Option B: Extra PPF "Track Pack".** Instead of guards, you just double up or extend the film. Pros: Keeps the clean look. Cons: Film can still get chewed up over time and look "pitted."

In my experience, the Automotive Passion Carbon Fiber Arch Guards are the best choice cuz they're subtle but functional. Also, for the interior, i think you highkey need to protect the piano black trim. I used Xpel Interior Protection Film Kit for the center console area because it scratches if you just look at it wrong lol.

So yeah, definitely do the full front PPF, but maybe add those arch guards day one too?? You wont regret it when you hear stones clicking off them instead of your paint. Peace!

yo congrats on the RS 6!! honestly that car is a beast but keeping it mint is a full-time job lol. I've seen way too many owners skip the small stuff and regret it. For your situation, since you're already doing Xpel Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film and a coating, you definitely need to think about the high-impact areas that the film doesn't cover perfectly.

Here's what I recommend:
* Stek DynoFlex Windshield Protection Film - seriously, that huge windshield is a rock magnet and replacing Audi glass with the HUD sensors is like $2k+. Do it day one.
* Sliplo Universal Bumper Scrape Guard Kit - these are amazing for the bottom of the front lip. Since the RS 6 is low, you're gonna scrape eventually and these save the actual carbon/paint.
* Gyeon Q2 LeatherShield 50ml - it's basically ceramic coating for your seats. It prevents denim dye transfer which is huge if you have the Valcona leather.

I mean... those wide tires literally throw rocks like crazy so I'd also look at Meguiar's M210 Mirror Glaze Ultra Polishing Finish for any minor touchups. I learned the hard way that film is great but the glass and interior need love too!! gl with the new ride!

Just sharing my experience: I went through this same stress last year when I picked mine up. Honestly, I've spent thousands on pro detailing over the years, but this time I wanted to see where I could save some cash without it looking cheap, right? Ngl, after paying for the full front Xpel Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film, my wallet was feeling pretty light lol.

Instead of the pricey interior kits, I actually just went with a basic 303 Aerospace Protectant 16oz for the dash and plastics—it's like $15 and keeps things from fading just as well as the high-end stuff imo. For the gloss black bits that scratch if you even look at them, I found some generic VViViD Clear Paint Protection Film and DIY-cut small strips for the door sills. It saved me a few hundred bucks vs the pre-cut kits!

* 303 Aerospace Protectant 16oz for UV protection
* VViViD Clear Paint Protection Film for custom DIY bits
* Chemical Guys Silk Shine Spray Dressing for the wheel wells

But yeah, basically I've learned that you dont always need the brand-name specific kits for every inch of the car. Are you planning on doing any of the interior bits yourself or having the shop handle it all? gl with the new beast!!
