Hey everyone! I recently picked up a B9 Audi S5 Sportback in Mythos Black, and while I absolutely love the performance and the stock lines, it feels a bit too 'sleeper' for my taste right now. I’m looking to sharpen the look and give it a more aggressive presence on the road without going completely overboard or looking tacky.

I’ve been browsing some options like honeycomb RS-style grilles and carbon fiber lip kits, but I’m torn on which brands offer the best fitment. I’m also considering a subtle trunk spoiler and maybe some spacers to get the stance sitting a bit more flush with the fenders. My budget is around $1,500 - $2,000 for the initial round of mods, so I want to make sure I’m investing in pieces that actually look high-quality and hold up over time.

For those of you who have modified your S5, which exterior mods gave you the biggest 'wow' factor? Also, are there any specific front splitters or rear diffusers you’d recommend that don't require crazy modifications to install?

For your situation, I would suggest being *really* careful with fitment if you're doing this yourself. Ngl, some of those cheap RS grilles have terrible clips that snap easily. Maybe check out the ECS Tuning Gloss Black Mesh Grill instead—it's usually way more reliable than random eBay stuff.

Also, if you're worried about quality, comparing 034Motorsport Dynamic+ Lowering Springs vs just doing spacers is a big deal. Springs give you that aggressive stance but might affect your ride quality, so definitely consult a pro before installing so you dont mess up your alignment. Just my 2 cents tho... good luck!!

Seconding the recommendation above for sure! I'm pretty new to the Audi scene, but I was so happy with how my B9 turned out after doing a little market research.

I mean, ECS Tuning Gloss Black Mesh Grill is solid, but if you want to compare, here's what I found:
- Carbnlab RS5 Style Competition Grille: Seriously high-quality finish, but it's often backordered.
- CAP B9 S5 RS Style Grille: Super popular in the forums cuz the fitment is basically 1:1 and it's a bit cheaper.

I actually went with the CAP one and it looks sooo much more aggressive than stock! Also, maybe look at the 034Motorsport Dynamic+ Wheel Spacer Kit instead of generic ones? It's literally a night and day difference for the stance. gl!

Seconding the recommendation above for sure! I've been messing with Audis for a few years now and honestly, the advice about fitment is spot on. Since you're looking for that aggressive look on ur Mythos Black S5 without going too crazy, I gotta talk about the safety side of things when it comes to spacers and aero.

I mean, it's easy to get distracted by the aesthetics, but if you're doing spacers to get that flush look, please don't cheap out. I've seen some horror stories on the forums from people using generic bolts that shear off under high load. If you're going for that 12.5mm/15mm setup, definitely look at the 034Motorsport Dynamic+ Wheel Spacer Kit with 14x1.5x40mm Ball Seat Bolts. Using high-quality, heat-treated bolts is literally the most important part so ur wheels actually stay on while you're driving hard lol.

For the aero bits, if you want something high-quality that won't break the bank or require a professional shop to install, check these out:

- Maxton Design Front Splitter V.2 Audi S5 B9 - These are basically industry standard for "good fitment without the carbon fiber price tag." They're durable as hell and won't shatter the first time you scrape a driveway.
- 034Motorsport B9 Audi S5 High-Gloss Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler - This is super subtle but gives the back end a much better profile than stock.

Basically, just take ur time with the install. It feels sooo much better when you know the parts are secure. Good luck with the build, dude! 👍

yo, congrats on the B9! honestly, the biggest wow factor for my Mythos Black setup was definitely the honeycomb grille and spacers. i went with a 12.5mm front/15mm rear setup and it LITERALLY changed the car's presence. basically makes it look way more aggressive without being tacky.

1. RS-style grille - total game changer for the front end
2. Wheel spacers - gets that flush fitment you're after
3. Carbon trunk lip - super easy install and looks amazing

good luck!! 👍

Exactly what I was thinking

Totally agree with what was mentioned about fitment and safety—especially on a car this nice. I've been running my S5 for a few years now, and one thing people ALWAYS forget is the long-term maintenance side of these mods. It's easy to look good in the driveway on day one, but keeping it that way is the real challenge. If ur looking to pull the trigger, just keep these potential headaches in mind: * **UV Damage:** If you go with carbon fiber, make sure it has a high-quality UV clear coat or get it ceramic coated immediately. I've seen so many S5s with yellowing or peeling trunk lips after just one summer in the sun.
* **Sensor Calibration:** When you swap that front grille, the parking sensors (PDC) can be super finicky. If they aren't seated EXACTLY right, you’ll get constant ghost warnings while sitting at stoplights which is BEYOND annoying.
* **Road Debris:** Gloss black grilles and low splitters are absolute magnets for rock chips. If you don't PPF them, they'll look pitted and grey within 10k miles. Honestly, it’s better to take your time and do one high-quality piece at a time than to rush the whole look with stuff that won't last.
