Hey everyone! I’m finally taking delivery of my BMW i4 next week and I’m beyond excited to get it on the road. Since I live in an area with pretty unpredictable weather—lots of rain and the occasional muddy weekend—I really want to get some solid floor mats in place before I start putting some real miles on it. I want to keep that premium interior looking pristine, but I’m torn between sticking with the official BMW OEM all-weather mats or looking into some of the popular aftermarket options.

I’ve heard a lot of buzz about brands like TuxMat and WeatherTech, but I’m curious about how the fitment actually looks in the i4 specifically, especially around the footwell and the rear seating area. I’m looking for something that offers high-wall coverage to trap dirt but still feels high-end enough to match the car's aesthetic. Does anyone have experience with how these brands handle the dead pedal area or if they interfere with the seat adjustment? I’ve also noticed some mats have a more 'rubbery' smell than others, which I’d like to avoid if possible.

For those of you who have had your i4 for a while, which floor mats would you recommend for the best balance of protection and style? Are the OEM ones worth the premium, or is there a third-party brand that fits like a glove?

Quick question - before I give my full advice, are you looking for a set that covers the center transmission hump in the back, or just the standard footwells? The i4 interior is slick but that rear floor layout can be tricky for some brands to get 100% right...

Anyway, had a moment to think about this and in my experience, TuxMat Floor Mats for BMW i4 is usually the king of high-wall coverage. They're way more "padded" than rubbery. But here's a quick tip: honestly, go for 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for BMW i4 if you want that high-end look. They have a carbon fiber-ish texture that looks sooo much better than the industrial vibe of a WeatherTech FloorLiner. Plus, they're super easy to clean and dont smell at all, right?

In my experience, I’ve learned the hard way that buying accessories at the dealership is basically a trap for your wallet. When I first got my car, I was sooo tempted to just grab the BMW i4 All-Weather Floor Mats right there on delivery day, but I decided to wait and do some research. I ended up finding the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mats for BMW i4 online for a much better price than the OEM ones.

Honestly, they’re reallyyy solid because they give you that premium look without the "truck mat" vibe of something like WeatherTech FloorLiner. Plus, they don't smell like a tire factory... which is a huge plus for a new car. I guess my main advice is to shop around first? I saved about $50 by looking at third-party sellers. Just be careful with fitment around the seat tracks tho... I've heard some cheap generic ones can get stuck. So yeah, definitely check the 3D MAXpider stuff if you want to save some money but keep it looking classy. gl!

Just caught this thread! I'd actually suggest a different approach—ngl, I think the factory mats look *fantastic* and fit the car's vibe perfectly! I've seen some third-party sets that look way too industrial, you know? Quick question tho... are you prioritizing that "rugged" look or is keeping the slim, luxury feel more important? Also, what's your budget like?

TL;DR: Think about whether you want luxury or rugged utility first!
