Hey everyone! I finally took delivery of my G80 M3 a few weeks ago, and while the car looks incredible stock, I can’t stop thinking about how much better it would look with some high-quality carbon fiber accents. The factory paint is Dravit Grey, and I feel like the contrast of the carbon weave would really make the body lines pop.
I’ve been browsing a ton of different shops online—everything from the official M Performance catalog to aftermarket brands like Vorsteiner and RW Carbon—but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. I’m trying to decide which pieces actually make the biggest visual impact without making the car look too 'busy' or over-the-top.
I’m currently torn between starting with a front lip or focusing on the rear with a more aggressive diffuser and a trunk spoiler. I’m also curious if people think carbon mirror caps and side skirts are worth the investment, or if they just blend in too much. Quality is a big concern for me; I really want to avoid any pieces that have poor fitment or where the clear coat might yellow after a year in the sun. My budget is flexible, but I’d like to keep this initial round of mods under $3,000 if possible.

Sooo, here's how I'd break it down for your $3k budget:
Option A: The Front End. Honestly, a front lip is the biggest game changer. I'm running the Vorsteiner VRS Aero Front Spoiler Carbon Fiber G80 M3 and it makes the car look way more aggressive without being too low.
Option B: The Rear Setup. If you want that "pop" when people are behind you, go for the M Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser paired with a RW Carbon BMW G80 M3 GTX Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler.
Option C: Small Accents. Mirror caps and skirts are cool, but they kinda blend in on Dravit tbh.
Best choice? I'd 100% start with the Vorsteiner lip and a solid trunk spoiler. The fitment on Vorsteiner gear is basically OEM grade, so no yellowing issues. It's the best bang for your buck for sure. gl! 👍

Honestly, focusing on the resin quality is key... make sure it's UV-stable or it'll yellow so fast. Quick tip: spend the extra $150 to get the pieces ceramic coated before install. It literally makes cleaning brake dust off the carbon so much easier!

Honestly, the struggle of choosing between different resin types and weave tension specs while trying to maintain factory weight balance is real, especially since im planning to do the full install myself in the garage. Technical data on fitment tolerances for these aftermarket pieces is totally overwhelming... i just want the finish to be perfect! ^ This. Also, a couple quick tips for the DIY route:
- Apply Gtechniq HALO Flexible Film Coating to every carbon piece before mounting to prevent UV yellowing.
- Grab a Precision Instruments C2FR100F 3/8-Inch Drive Split Beam Torque Wrench for the underbody bolts because stripping factory threads is a nightmare.

Honestly, after years of modding BMWs, I've learned that fitment is EVERYTHING. If you want that OEM+ look without the M-Performance price tag, I highly recommend checking out Vorsteiner VRS Aero Carbon Fiber Front Spoiler G80 M3. The weave match is basically perfect to the factory roof.
For your $3k budget, definitely skip the mirror caps—they're a pain to install and dont add much 'pop' on Dravit. Instead, grab these:
* RW Carbon BMW G80 M3 G82 M4 Carbon Fiber Side Skirt Extensions - these actually protect your paint from rock chips too.
* Turner Motorsport High Kick Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler G80 M3 - gives the rear that aggressive silhouette you're after.
