My G80 is getting weirdly hot during my drives in Florida and I didnt expect this much heat soak honestly.

I was thinking about downpipes first but my logic says cooling is more urgent for my track day in two weeks... Im kinda panicking about the warranty though. What are the absolute must-haves?

> My G80 is getting weirdly hot during my drives in Florida and I didnt expect this much heat soak honestly. Man, I remember my first summer with a turbo BMW down here. I was at Sebring and by lap four my oil temps were climbing so fast I had to do a cool-down lap while everyone else was still flying. I was genuinely panicking that my engine was gonna go into limp mode right in front of a bunch of GT3s. Florida humidity is no joke for the S58 engine. Honestly, skip the downpipes for now. They sound cool but they dont solve your immediate problem of the car pulling timing because it's just too hot. If you're hitting the track in two weeks, you need to prioritize the heat exchanger. The stock unit is decent but it struggles when the ambient temp hits 90 plus. I swapped in the CSF High-Performance Front Mount Heat Exchanger BMW G80 M3 Aluminum Dual-Pass and it made a massive difference in how long I could stay out before the car started cutting power. It basically increases the fluid capacity and has better fin density to dump heat faster. Regarding the warranty, most dealers are way more relaxed about cooling mods than they are about downpipes. Downpipes usually require a tune to get rid of the check engine light, and thats what flags your VIN. If you just show up with a beefier radiator, they usually dont care because it's technically preventative. You might also want to look at the CSF High-Performance Transmission Oil Cooler BMW G80 if you're doing long sessions. Keeping that ZF8 gearbox cool is just as important as the engine itself. Just my two cents from blowing a couple gaskets back in the day... stay cool first, then go for the sound later.
