Hey everyone! I recently joined the club and picked up a Z06, and man, what an absolute machine. While it’s plenty fast stock, I’m looking to personalize it and maybe gain a bit more edge for weekend track sessions. I’m specifically curious about cooling upgrades like an expanded heat exchanger to prevent heat soak, and perhaps a high-flow air intake to help the engine breathe better. I’ve also been looking at some stage 2 or 3 aero accessories for better downforce. There are so many aftermarket options out there, and I really want to avoid parts that are all show and no go. For those with some seat time, what are the absolute must-have performance upgrades you'd recommend starting with?

yo! honestly, i've had my Z06 for a few years now and im super satisfied with a budget-friendly setup. i mean, you dont always gotta spend $5k to stop that heat soak. basically, if you wanna save money but still track it, here is what i'd suggest starting with:

* Chevrolet Performance C7 Corvette Z06 Secondary Radiator - this is a *huge* value win and way cheaper than full aftermarket kits.
* Extreme Online Store C7 Corvette Stage 3 Front Splitter and Side Skirts - these give you that downforce look and feel for way less cash.
* PowerStop Z26 Street Warrior Brake Pad Kit - these are great if your just starting out and dont wanna spend a fortune on track pads.

idk if im an expert yet but these realy worked well for me and i have no complaints so far!! it's probably the best way to get that "edge" without breaking the bank. do you have a specific track you're heading to first? gl with the new car, youre gonna love it!

Sooo i've been running these cars for years and ngl, the heat soak issue is NO joke. Basically, when ur IATs (Intake Air Temps) spike, the ECU pulls timing to protect the engine, which literally kills ur power right when u need it. I unfortunately wasted money on flashier parts early on that were basically all show. Honestly, I had issues with power loss until I realized the stock bricks just can't keep up with back-to-back laps.

I really recommend starting with the Gspeed C7 Z06 Cooling System—it's the only way to stay out all day without hitting limp mode. For breathing, the Halltech Stinger RK Cold Air Intake is actually worth the coin and doesn't mess with ur fuel trims too bad. Just remember, Stage 3 aero adds a ton of drag, so if ur cooling isn't sorted, ur gonna feel SO slow on the straights. gl!

In my experience, basically cooling vs aero is a trade-off—heat soak kills timing but aero is pricey. r u tracking in summer heat? whats the total budget lookin like??
