What are the must-have exterior performance mods for a Corvette Z06?

I just picked up a Z06 and want to maximize its track performance without going overboard. I'm specifically looking at stage 2 or 3 aero kits and maybe some upgraded brake cooling ducts. Which exterior mods actually provide measurable downforce improvements vs. just looking aggressive? Would love to hear your experiences with specific brands!

In my experience, the Chevrolet Performance Z06 Stage 3 Aero Kit is basically the only way to go for actual measurable downforce. Definitely grab the Chevrolet Performance Z06 Brake Cooling Duct Kit too, cuz it reallyyy helps with heat management and Ive been super satisfied with it for years. What tracks are you planning to hit??

Late to the party but I went through this last year... basically was broke after buying the car lol. I found some budget wins: 1. Grabbed the Extreme Online Store C7 Z06 Stage 3 Front Splitter for like $450—looks just like OEM but cheaper.
2. And used the ACS Composite Front Brake Cooling Duct Kit cuz it was a decent price. Honestly idk if it's as good as high-end stuff, but it works for me!! u found any deals yet??

I struggled with drag until I got the APR Performance GTC-500 Carbon Fiber Wing. It's honestly amazing cuz the measurable downforce is insane for the price compared to OEM... worth every penny!!

Building on the earlier suggestion regarding those stage 3 aero setups, I really need to chime in with a warning for anyone doing a DIY install. Unfortunately, I had some major issues with the hardware that comes in most of these kits. It just isnt as good as expected and honestly feels dangerous for track use.

  • Avoid using the plastic push-pins or rivets that come in the box.
  • Replace everything with stainless steel bolts and wide fender washers.
  • Make sure you tie the splitter into the actual sub-support, not just the bumper cover. I learned this the hard way when my setup started vibrating violently at high speeds. It was pretty disappointing to find out the mounting points were already stretching out the plastic. Its a huge safety risk if that piece flies off at 140mph. TL;DR: Stock up on high-quality stainless hardware before you start. Most aftermarket kits provide cheap fasteners that wont hold up to actual downforce pressure.
