So I finally picked up my Silverado EV and I am honestly so hyped to start kitting it out but man the interior is just so different from my old ICE truck. Im looking to spend maybe 600 bucks right now just to protect everything because I live near Seattle and the rain/mud is basically a permanent personality trait here. My logic was to just grab the WeatherTech liners like I always do but then I read on a random blog that the Chevy OEM ones actually have better coverage for the specific way the floor is flat in the back? But then someone else said the OEM rubber feels cheap compared to the aftermarket stuff so now Im just stuck. Also what are we doing about that massive infotainment screen? I saw those matte screen protectors online but I dont want it to look blurry or ruin the touch sensitivity. I really want this thing to stay looking brand new since it was a huge investment for my family. Are there any specific center console organizers that fit the EV version well yet? The space is so deep I feel like I'm gonna lose my keys in there forever if I dont find a tray or something. I havent seen many reviews for specific brands that are actually out yet for the 2024 model year...
I was literally in your same shoes last month after getting my RST. I went through a few different setups before finding what actually worked without feeling like cheap plastic. One thing people forget about these EVs is that the flat floor makes spills travel way faster since there is no hump to stop them. I had a coffee cup tip over once and it almost reached the wiring harness near the door sill because the mat I had didnt have high enough walls. It was a huge wake-up call for keeping the truck reliable long-term.
Which trim did you get? The RST and WT consoles are different, so fitment is tricky. I once bought a universal tray that rattled like crazy, so be careful there. For Seattle rain, I'd suggest looking at alternatives to OEM since those sometimes have gaps.
TL;DR: Stick with the Chevy liners for the floor and find a generic organizer tray. I used to be a diehard WeatherTech fan, but the factory ones actually cover the flat floor better in these new EVs. For the screen, just get any matte protector from Spigen. It keeps the fingerprints off and doesnt ruin the view, honestly it saved my interior.
Im still kitting mine out but definitely be careful with that screen. My old truck had a cheap film that baked on and it was a total mess to peel off. I would suggest:
