so i just traded in my old 2015 for a 2024 tahoe z71 and man the interior layout has changed way more than i expected especially with the floor space between the second row captains chairs. ive been a loyal weathertech guy for years—like literally every truck ive owned since 2008 had them—but i ran into a weird issue with the last set i bought for my wifes traverse where the edges started curling after like six months and it just looked cheap and drove me crazy. i really want to avoid that this time because we are heading up to northern michigan for a ski trip in three weeks and with the kids and their slushy boots coming in and out i need something that actually stays flush against the door sill and doesnt create a trip hazard.

i was looking at the husky x-act contour because i heard the material is a bit softer and more rubberized than the stiff laser measured stuff from other brands but then i saw some people talking about the tuxmat ones. they look really nice and cover almost every inch of the carpet but i dont know if they can actually handle real mud and heavy salt? the cargo area is another thing too because i got the power folding seats in this one and i dont want a mat that gets bunched up or caught in the mechanism when we drop the third row for all our hockey gear and groceries. i usually have a budget of about 350 or 400 for the whole cabin but im willing to go higher if it means i dont have to replace them in two years.

i know the basics of liners vs mats but with the new tahoe floor pan being slightly different than the last gen and having that specific hump in the middle of the second row i am totally torn on what actually fits the best without sliding around or gapping. has anyone tried those 3d maxpider ones or should i just stick to the oem all-weather liners from the chevy dealership even though they usually dont cover the dead pedal area very well? what are you guys using that actually holds up to heavy family use without losing its shape?

Just saw this. Quick question tho—does your Z71 have that power sliding center console? That totally changes how the front liners sit. In my experience, Husky Liners X-act Contour Floor Mats are way better than the stiff plastic ones because they stay soft and grippy in Michigan winters. For the back, maybe look at the Chevrolet OEM All-Weather Cargo Liner so it doesnt jam those power folding seat motors.

Building on the earlier suggestion, i gotta say im actually gonna go against the grain here regarding the Husky recommendation. Dont get me wrong, they are decent, but if youre heading to Northern Michigan for a ski trip, you really need to be careful with liners that dont offer full vertical coverage. I would suggest checking out TuxMat Custom Car Mats for Chevrolet Tahoe instead of the standard rubber ones. Tbh, they look like luxury upholstery but they are absolute tanks when it comes to trapping salt and melted slush. The big reason i prefer these for the Tahoe is how they handle the second row hump and the edges. Most liners just sit on top, but TuxMat uses these little clips that tuck under your plastic trim. This is huge because it completely solves that curling issue you had before. Its much safer for the kids too... no lifted edges to catch a boot on when theyre climbing into the back. You definitely dont want a trip hazard when your hands are full of gear. Also, for that cargo area with the power seats, make sure to look at the Canvasback Cargo Liner for Chevrolet Tahoe. Most thick rubber mats like the OEM ones will eventually catch on the seat hinges or bunch up when you fold them down. The Canvasback stuff sticks to the back of the seat itself so it moves with the mechanism. Itll save you a ton of frustration when youre loading hockey bags in the cold. Just my two cents tho... stay safe on those icy roads!

I dealt with that exact same curling mess on my old rig and it was a total nightmare with the kids tripping. You might want to consider going with Husky this time. Just be careful with those stiffer plastics in the cold tho. i would suggest their rubberized lines.

  • Make sure to check the door gaps
  • Watch the seat tracks Just grab any set from Husky and youll be set for the snow.

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
