What are the must-have performance accessories for a Dodge Challenger?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a 2021 Challenger R/T and I’m finally ready to start modding. It’s got plenty of grunt stock, but I really want to squeeze out some extra performance and sharpen the handling. I’ve been looking into getting a high-flow cold air intake and a solid oil catch can to keep things clean, but I'm overwhelmed by the options. I’m also considering a mid-muffler delete for a better growl, though I’m worried about highway drone since this is my daily driver. For those of you who’ve been through this, what are the absolute 'day one' performance mods I should prioritize? Should I focus on the engine first, or would suspension upgrades make a bigger difference?

Curious about one thing: what is it ur aiming for?? Like, just dailying or track days? Honestly, I pushed for power too early once and it felt kinda sketchy. Basically, safety first: - Get Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 245/45ZR20 tires for grip.
- Try Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Upgrade Kit. I'm so satisfied with how mine stops now!! gl

> I really want to squeeze out some extra performance and sharpen the handling. Spot on advice from the guys above. Honestly, the 5.7L is a beast but the factory throttle lag is a real mood killer. If you’re doing market research on mods, you'll see two main camps for "sharpening" that response. Most owners grab the Pedal Commander Throttle Response Controller because it's popular, but from a reliability perspective, I’d actually recommend the Banks Power PedalMonster. Unlike the simpler units, the Banks unit monitors the OBD-II data and has a "fail-safe" mode - so if the module loses power, it reverts to stock instead of leaving you stranded. It’s the safer bet for a daily driver (at least in my experience). On the handling side, if you want to avoid the "boat" feeling without dropping the car too low on springs, look at a Hotchkis Sport Suspension Sport Sway Bar Set. It tightens up the cornering significantly by increasing roll stiffness. It’s a cleaner, more professional way to improve handling without compromising your ground clearance on speed bumps. Definitely a "day one" priority for me. GL!

I remember when I first got my Challenger, I was obsessed with the high-end brands. I almost dropped four hundred bucks on a fancy cold air intake just because it looked shiny under the hood. Then I joined a local club and saw guys getting the same results with the Spectre Performance Air Intake System 9028. Honestly, it saved me a couple hundred bucks that I put right into sharpening the steering instead. The boat feel is definitely real, but I found that a strut brace helps a ton with that front-end flex without needing to spend thousands on a full coilover setup. I managed to snag a deal on the Mopar Front Strut Tower Brace 77070055AB and it made the front end feel way more planted in the corners. If you're worried about budget and want to avoid future headaches, looking into a Per4Mance Development DUSTER Differential Brace is probably the smartest money I spent. It keeps the rear end from hopping around under load, which is way cheaper than replacing a snapped axle down the road. Just my two cents from trying to build a solid daily without going broke.

Late to the party but yo, congrats on the 2021 R/T!! That 5.7L is a legendary motor, but honestly, the Challenger is *lowkey* a boat from the factory lol. If you want it to feel sharper right away, you gotta balance the engine stuff with some handling mods so you arent just fast in a straight line. Here’s what I’d suggest for a day one setup: * **Air & Oil:** I definately think the J&L Oil Separator 3.0 for 2011-2023 Challenger 5.7L HEMI is a must-have to keep your intake valves clean. For the intake itself, the aFe Power Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Cold Air Intake System with Pro 5R Filter is amazing because it actually seals against the hood to keep out that engine heat, which is a huge issue on these cars.
* **The Drone Issue:** If youre worried about highway drone, a straight mid-muffler delete might drive you crazy after a week. I highly recommend swapping the stock mufflers for the Vibrant Performance 1141 2.5" Ultra Quiet Resonator. You get that deep HEMI growl when you step on it, but it cleans up the rasp and basically eliminates that annoying drone!
* **Handling vs Engine:** Seriously, go with suspension first. The Eibach Anti-Roll-Kit Front and Rear Sway Bars for Challenger R/T will change your life. It keeps the car way flatter in corners without making the ride too stiff for a daily. Plus, a Speedlogix Front Strut Tower Brace for Dodge Challenger is a literal 10-minute install and it tightens up the steering feel instantly. tbh, I’d focus on the sway bars and catch can first. It makes the car feel more "expensive" and tight. Good luck with the build! 👍

> What are the absolute 'day one' performance mods I should prioritize? yo, congrats on the R/T! Honestly, I think the catch can is priority one. For the HEMI, the Billet Technology Signature Series Catch Can is basically mandatory to stop oil blow-by. If ur comparing engine vs handling, a Mopar Cold Air Intake 77070044AD adds sound, but Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs 28111.140 actually transforms the car. Engine mods feel cool, but suspension is where you really feel the difference... gl!
