sorry if this is a dumb question but I just got my allocation for the new 12Cilindri and I am totally lost with all these options. I really want some carbon fiber pieces because they look so cool but I have no idea what is actually worth it and what is just a waste of money. The dealer is pushing these huge packages and I feel like I am being pressured to decide like right now because my build locks next week and I am freaking out a bit. I am in Miami so the sun is brutal and I heard some carbon can turn yellow or crack if it is cheap... is that true?
Is it better to just get the interior carbon or should I focus on the outside like the diffusers? I literally do not know the difference between dry carbon and wet carbon or any of that so please explain it like I am five. Do people usually buy this stuff after they get the car or should I just suck it up and pay the Ferrari tax at the dealership?...
Like someone mentioned, dry carbon is king, but unfortunately factory markups are basically highway robbery. I've had issues with the cost-to-impact ratio on small parts before. To stay under your $15k budget:
To add to the point above: focus on details that show off the weave without the $30k markup. In my experience, these are best for your budget:
Congrats on the 12Cilindri allocation! That V12 is gonna be absolutely amazing and the sound is just fantastic! Honestly, since you are in Miami, you have to be super cautious about UV damage. I always recommend sticking to factory parts for anything large like the diffuser to keep that warranty rock solid and ensure the resin doesnt yellow. I love the look of the interior carbon too because it stays cooler and looks so sharp! Here is what I would prioritize for that $15k budget:
Regarding what #1 said about "Congrats on the 12Cilindri allocation! That V12 is...", it's a beast. Dry carbon uses pre-impregnated resin which survives heat better than cheaper wet carbon pieces I've used.
