I just finally took delivery of my new Lightning last week and I’m absolutely loving it so far! Since this is my first EV truck, I’m trying to figure out which upgrades are actually worth the investment. I’m definitely looking for a solid tonneau cover to help with range and security, but I’m also curious about frunk organizers or specific charging cable management for the garage. I want to keep things practical but high-quality. With so many options out there, it’s hard to tell what’s actually useful versus just fluff. For those of you who’ve had yours for a while, what are the absolute top must-have accessories you’d recommend starting with?

Seconding the recommendation above. In my experience with various truck setups over the years, you dont need to drop a fortune on frunk gear. I just use a Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer Collapsible Multi-Compartment Bin that costs maybe $25-30. It’s way cheaper than OEM stuff and fits the Lightning's frunk dimensions perfectly... seriously, skip the fluff and focus on value. GL!

yo, welcome to the club! i'm still kinda new to this too, but i've been lowkey obsessing over the safety side of things since i picked up my lightning. i'd actually suggest a different approach than the cheap bins mentioned earlier. i mean, i get wanting to save money, but after seeing a friend's generic bin slide around and almost crack his frunk's interior plastic during a sharp turn, i decided to go a different route lol. not to disagree with the previous advice, but i really think for the bed you should look at a hard folding cover instead of a roller. i went with the BAK BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover and it's literally like a tank. it feels way safer for storing expensive gear because it's way harder to break into than a rolling one imo. plus, it handles heavy snow loads much better if you're in a cold climate! for the garage, seriously don't overlook cable management. it's a huge safety thing so you don't trip or strain the charging port. i bought the BougeRV EV Charger Cable Organizer Hook and Holster for like $20 and it's amazing. and for the frunk, i actually recommend the Ford OEM F-150 Lightning Frunk Organizer Bag because it's built for the exact dimensions. it doesn't move an inch! basically, i think spending a bit more for stuff that's actually rated for the truck is the way to go for long-term reliability. anyway, hope that gives you some more ideas to think about!! peace

> What are the absolute top must-have accessories you’d recommend starting with? yo, congrats on the delivery! honestly, the lightning is such a game changer. for your situation, i would suggest starting with a solid tonneau. i've been using the Bak Industries Revolver X4s Hard Rolling Truck Bed Tonneau Cover and i'm super satisfied with it... it looks sick and definitely helps with that highway range lol. for the frunk, dont overthink the fancy organizers... i found that just getting a WeatherTech Frunk Mat works well enough to stop stuff from sliding around. if you want the garage looking clean, look into the Lectron J1772 NEMA 14-50 Plug-In EV Charging Cable for a solid backup, or just a basic cable hook. tbh, keep it simple at first. those few things made the biggest difference for me day-to-day. gl with the new rig!!

I went through this last year. Honestly, I spent weeks comparing brands like the Rough Country Hard Tri-Fold Bed Cover against the pricier Bak stuff. The Rough Country was like $650, basically half the cost, and it's been rock solid. I also realized market research pays off—I found a generic Amazon Basics Car Trunk Organizer for $15 that fits the frunk perfectly. Super satisfied staying under budget!
