I recently took delivery of my Genesis GV60, and I’m absolutely loving the tech-forward interior and the smooth ride. However, I’ve realized that I definitely need a high-quality dash cam to protect this investment. Since the GV60 has such a sleek, minimalist cabin and a unique rearview mirror setup, I’m a bit worried about finding a camera that doesn't look like a cluttered mess or interfere with the advanced safety sensors.

I’ve been looking into 4K options because I want to make sure license plates are crystal clear, especially for parking mode since the car is often in public lots. I’m specifically curious if anyone has found a model that integrates well with the GV60’s power supply—perhaps using a Dongar adapter or a clean hardwire kit that doesn't void the warranty. I’m also wondering if there’s a specific brand that matches the premium aesthetic of the Genesis interior better than others.

For those of you already driving a GV60, which dash cam are you using, and did you run into any issues with the installation or the car's battery management system?

sooo i’ve been digging into the same thing for a few months now and i get the struggle!! i mean the gv60 is so clean inside, you really dont want wires hanging everywhere. basically, i did a ton of market research and found that the high-end brands are usually more "set it and forget it," whereas the mid-range ones give you better raw video quality for the price.

Pro tip: you might find this useful—check out the "GV60 Dashcam Guide" on the Genesis Owners forum. There's a massive thread there about parasitic draw that's super helpful.

Here is what I learned from my current setup:

1. Korean brands usually play way nicer with our car's battery management system (BMS) compared to the cheaper ones i looked at.
2. A mirror tap is basically the way to go if you want that "factory" look without pulling apart the headliner... at least thats what worked for me.
3. Honestly, the 4k resolution is great, but make sure the brand's app is actually decent or you'll hate using it lol.

gl with the install!! 👍

Sooo, I was literally in the same boat last month after getting my GV60! I wanted something sleek that wouldn't ruin the vibe. For your situation, I would suggest checking out these two based on my research:

BlackVue DR970X-2CH 4K UHD Dash Cam - Super premium and very slim. Honestly, it fits the Genesis aesthetic perfectly, but I'm kinda worried about the battery drain if you don't use a dedicated power cell.

Thinkware U3000 4K UHD Dual-Channel Dash Cam - This one is great because it has a built-in radar for parking mode, which is lowkey better for the car's battery management system.

I ended up going with the BlackVue and it's been working well, though I'm still a bit nervous about the hardwiring... maybe talk to a pro first? Peace!

Honestly, for the GV60, you gotta be careful with the battery management system. I'd suggest the Vantrue E1 2.7K WiFi Mini Dash Cam or the VIOFO A139 Pro 4K Dash Cam 1-CH with a Dongar Dash Cam Power Adapter 10-pin Type H for Genesis. It's super discreet and won't mess with the safety sensors. Just be cautious with parking mode; I'd definitely use a BlackVue B-130X Ultra Magic Battery Pack to avoid any "battery discharge" warnings from the car. Better safe than sorry, gl!
