So I finally pulled the trigger on the Magma edition and it should be here by mid-November but Im stressing about the floors already. Living in Seattle means mud and rain are basically my personality now and I dont want to ruin that specialized interior. I looked at TuxMat because they look fancy but some guy on a different thread mentioned they might cover up some of the specific trim pieces that make the Magma unique. Then there is WeatherTech but honestly they look a bit too industrial for a car that costs this much. My budget is around 250 bucks and I really need something that wont slide around. Are there any custom options that actually fit the Magmas specific vibe without looking cheap?

Yo, congrats on the Magma. Honestly, I had issues with TuxMat in my previous build and it was super disappointing... they covered way too much of the footwell trim and made the cabin feel cramped. Not as good as expected for a luxury interior. If youre in Seattle, you need something that handles the gunk but doesnt look like a work truck. I really think 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats Black is your best bet for that $200 range.

  • They use a multi-layer TPE material which is way more supple than the stiff plastics WeatherTech uses.
  • The bottom layer has this patented MAXpider fiber that grips the carpet like velcro so they never slide.
  • They have a carbon fiber texture that actually complements the Magma specs instead of clashing with them. Sadly, most mats just focus on coverage and ignore the cars aesthetics, but these hit that middle ground perfectly.

Just saw this and you definitely need to protect that Magma! For Seattle rain, I highly recommend checking out these options that wont ruin the premium feel:

To add to the point above: im in the exact same boat. Honestly ive tried many mats in the PNW and its always a struggle. My last set just spilled mud everywhere when I moved them.

Like someone mentioned, the Magma trim is way too nice to hide under a massive plastic bucket. I have been really happy with the lower-profile custom fit options lately because they actually respect the interior geometry. From a technical side, most of these mats differ in the material Shore hardness and how they handle the heel pad area. Quick questions to see what fits your lifestyle:

  • Are you looking for a material that has a high-friction coefficient when wet, or is aesthetic your top priority?
  • Do you need the mat to cover the entire dead pedal, or are you okay with it being partially exposed to keep that Magma trim visible? Most brands fall into either the TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) camp or the multi-layer XPE foam camp. The TPE stuff is durable but looks like a truck, whereas the layered options look more like luxury but sometimes have lower liquid retention. Honestly, I find the layered stuff works well for rain as long as you arent literally dumping buckets of water in the footwell.

I agonized over Husky Liners WeatherBeater Series Floor Mats vs Lloyd Mats Northridge Custom Fit All-Weather Mats for months. Husky mats are invincible but get slippery, while Lloyds look high-end but hold less mud. Make sure they lock in. I had a mat bunch up under my brake once... terrifying. Be careful.
