Just picked up my new 2024 Yukon XL and man the tech is a huge jump from my old 2018 but the storage layout is totally different and way more open. Ive handled cabin clutter for years with simple bins but this center console is like a cavernous void where my keys and snacks go to die. I need a solid setup before our big family trip to Yellowstone next month. Anyone found a high quality console insert that actually works with the wireless charging pad layout? Also looking for something for the third row since the kids are back there now. I have about $350 set aside to get this rig dialed in. Any specific brands that fit the GMC dimensions better than the generic stuff?

Been thinking about your Yukon setup since I saw this post earlier. Honestly, I'm super happy with my 2024 and finally got the storage dialed in without it looking like a total mess. For that cavernous void in the console, that top tray everyone buys is okay, but you really need the grid that goes under it. I use the Vehicle OCD Lower Center Console Organizer for GMC Yukon 2021-2024 and it basically turns that basement area into actual usable cubbies. Nothing slides around when you're cornering which is a big relief tbh. Its nice knowing my flashlight and multitool aren't gonna rattle into a different dimension. For the kids in the third row, I'm always worried about loose stuff becoming projectiles if I have to slam the brakes on the highway. I went with the High Road Stash n Dash Car Seat Back Organizer because the straps are actually reinforced and dont sag like the cheap ones. It stays flush against the seat back so it doesnt eat up their legroom. Also, since you're heading to Yellowstone, you might wanna grab a NOCO Boost HD GB70 2000 Amp 12V UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter Pack. It fits perfectly in the rear side cubby and gives some serious peace of mind when you're out in the middle of nowhere with the family. Its worth the extra cash for the reliability alone.

Just saw this. One big thing to check first... do you have the power sliding center console or the fixed one? It totally changes which inserts will actually sit flush. Be careful with those cheap generic ones on Amazon, some of them are slightly off spec and will rattle like crazy or block the cooling for the wireless pad. If you have the standard fixed console, I would suggest the Vehicle OCD Center Console Organizer Tray for GMC Yukon 2021-2024. It fits the factory specs way better than the no-name stuff. For the kids in the back, seat-back protectors are okay but for a long haul to Yellowstone, maybe look at the Lusso Gear Kids Travel Tray with Dry Erase Board. It keeps their stuff from flying into the footwell every time you hit the brakes. Just make sure to measure the gap between the seats if you have captains chairs tho, wouldnt want it to be too wide for the kids to reach.

Congrats on the upgrade. Moving from the 2018 to the 2024 is a massive jump in tech, but yeah, that center console is basically a black hole. Ive spent a ton of time rigging out my own Yukon for long hauls, and the storage strategy definitely needs to be more methodical than just throwing generic bins in there. Basically, the interior geometry changed enough that your old setup wont cut it if you want it dialed in.

  • The center console layout varies a lot based on your specific trim level.
  • Wireless charging pads in these newer models are notoriously finicky with organizer trays.
  • Third-row storage usually requires something that fits the side cubbies or hooks onto seat backs. Before I dive into the specific setup I use, I need to clarify a few things to make sure the dimensions match up:
  • Does your XL have the power sliding console or is it the fixed version? It makes a massive difference in which trays will actually fit without jamming the slider mechanism.
  • For the third row, are you prioritizing floor-mounted storage between the chairs, or are you looking for seat-back organizers to keep things off the ground? Tbh, the generic stuff usually rattles too much in these high-end trims, so sticking to custom-fit pieces is definitely the way to go if you want it to feel factory. Let me know those details and I can help you narrow it down.
