Just picked up a new Yukon and I’m loving the space, but the center console feels like a bottomless pit! I'm looking for high-quality console inserts or cargo area dividers that have a factory-fit look. Does anyone have specific brands they recommend that won't rattle or slide around while driving?
oh man, congrats on the Yukon!! i totally get it, that console is basically a black hole lol. honestly, i recommend the Vehicle OCD Center Console Organizer Grid for GMC Yukon over the Musology Center Console Tray cuz the grid actually organizes the deep part while the tray just sits on top. for the back, the WeatherTech CargoTech Containment System is way better than nets cuz it stays put. the grid is highkey the best choice! gl!
I've tried many. EDBETOS Center Console Organizer Tray beats the Musology for fit, but the GMC Accessories Cargo Integrated Organizer is my top pick because it’s SO much safer tho.
I've seen too many items fly forward in stops over the years.
* Heininger 4010 HitchMate Cargo Bar
I'm super satisfied cuz it works well and keeps everything safe!
So, one thing I've learned after years of modding truck interiors is that off-the-shelf plastic bins dont always cut it if ur looking for that perfect 'factory' fit. If you're handy, I’d actually recommend looking into Kaizen foam or shadow boarding for the deep console. It’s basically a professional industry standard for tool organization, but it works wonders for SUVs too. You trace ur specific gear and peel away layers so nothing—and I mean nothing—rattles or shifts during heavy braking. Just a word of caution though: definitely check the clearance for your USB-C ports and the wireless charging pad if your Yukon has the active cooling vents in the console. I've seen people pack those DIY dividers so tight that they block the airflow, which can lead to your phone overheating or even frying the console's charging module. Also, be careful with some of the cheaper aftermarket rubber liners you find online; they often use low-grade polymers that off-gas in the summer heat, leaving a greasy film on the inside of ur windshield that's a nightmare to scrub off. Honestly, going the DIY foam route gives you way better density control and a much more premium feel than thin injection-molded plastic.
