I just picked up my new Ioniq 5 and I’m absolutely loving it, but I really want to get a high-quality dash cam installed ASAP for peace of mind. Since the car has such a unique interior and that sleek digital rearview mirror, I’m looking for something that won’t look clunky or mess with the tech. I'm ideally looking for a 4K setup with a reliable parking mode, but I’m a bit worried about the 12V battery drain issues I’ve read about online. Has anyone found a specific model that integrates well with the I5's USB ports or requires a clean hardwire kit? What are you guys using that doesn't ruin the minimalist aesthetic of the cabin?

For your situation, I'd suggest looking at the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo 4K Dual Dash Cam. I've been there with the 12V drain anxiety, and honestly, spending $500+ on a dedicated battery pack feels like overkill when you're already paying for a premium EV. I actually had some issues with more expensive setups in the past not being as good as expected for the price.

Instead, I recommend grabbing the VIOFO HK3 ACC Hardwire Kit for about $15. It has an adjustable voltage cutoff that'll protect your Ioniq 5's 12V battery without breaking the bank. It's a much more cost-effective way to get that 4K quality and reliable parking mode. To keep that minimalist look, just tuck the wires behind the headliner and A-pillar—it’s actually pretty DIY-friendly! Anyway, back to your question, this setup usually runs under $250 total if you catch a sale, which is a steal for 4K. Hope this helps!

For your situation, I’d grab the FitcamX 4K Dash Cam for Hyundai Ioniq 5. It looks totally factory-installed and avoids 12V drain by using the rain sensor power. Seriously clean setup, tbh.

I went through this last year. Honestly, I was super paranoid about the 12V drain too, so I skipped the hardwire and chose a dedicated battery pack setup. I paired the Blackvue DR970X-2CH Plus 4K Dash Cam with a Blackvue Power Magic Ultra Battery B-130X. It’s been great! No battery warnings at all, and the 4K quality is really sharp. Totally worth the extra peace of mind IMO.
