Just picked up my Limited trim last week and the E-GMP platform is great but man that flat floor is a blessing and a curse. I noticed today that my water bottle rolled all the way from the passenger footwell under my brake pedal which was honestly kinda terrifying and I didnt expect the open space to be that much of a safety thing. Ive been driving EVs for years but this layout is a new challenge for organization. Need to get this sorted before my road trip to Portland next month.

Looking for stuff that fits these vibes:

  • easy to clean because Seattle weather is basically just mud
  • nothing that ruins the minimalist light grey interior
  • budget is maybe 300 bucks tops
  • specifically need a console organizer since that deep bin is just a black hole

What are you guys using to keep stuff from flying around...

Ive been driving EVs for nearly a decade and the IONIQ 5 is absolutely fantastic! That rolling bottle issue is a major safety risk so you need a solid barrier. I have methodically tested a few setups to maintain the minimalist vibe while ensuring reliability.

Pros: Specifically designed to match the light interior. It creates a physical wall so nothing can roll into the drivers footwell.
Cons: Reduces the open floor aesthetic slightly.

Pros: Fantastic for keeping loose items contained in the back so they dont slide forward. Very easy to clean if it gets muddy.
Cons: Not as easily accessible while you are actually driving. Love the car and honestly that Portland trip will be amazing once you have the cabin sorted! Safety first!

Jumping in here because I had a similar scare with a soda can last month. I tried some generic organizers from a random site and they were honestly a letdown... the fit was way off and the dark plastic looked pretty bad against the light grey seats. Unfortunately, that deep center bin is basically a cavern without a divider. I eventually got the BestEvMod Center Console Organizer Tray for IONIQ 5 for about 25 bucks and it works, but the plastic feels a bit thin and rattle-y. For the Seattle mud, I actually regretted going cheap on the mats first. I tried some basic ones but they slid around too much. If you want it to actually stay put and handle the sludge, I had to spend about 200 on TuxMat Hyundai IONIQ 5 All-Weather Floor Mats. TL;DR: Avoid the generic bins; the BestEvMod tray is decent for organization, but skip the cheap mats if you want stuff to stop sliding into the footwell.

To add to the point above: the flat floor is definitely a safety thing i didnt consider at first either. honestly i looked at a few different brands and found that going with Topfit Interior Organizers is usually a safe bet for quality. the aftermarket market for these cars is flooded with cheap plastic but you cant go wrong with their gear. generic ones rattle too much tho. stick to brands specializing in evs so things stay put during your trip.

Congrats on the Limited! Honestly, that rolling bottle issue is terrifying and such a common trap! You gotta get a floor organizer ASAP before your road trip or things get dangerous!

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.
