Picked up my new Telly yesterday and Im kinda freaking out because we are supposed to leave for our first big family road trip from Chicago down to the Smokies on Friday and I have zero protection for the interior yet. I have two boys under ten and a golden retriever so the tan leather is basically a death sentence if I dont figure this out today. I spent all night looking at mats and Im totally stuck between the WeatherTechs and those TuxMat things everyone on Reddit talks about. Some people say TuxMat covers way more of the carpet but others say theyre a total pain to scrub down if the kids spill milk or get mud everywhere and now Im just spiraling. I also cant tell if the official Kia folding cargo tray is actually worth the 150 bucks or if I should just get a cheap Amazon one since the third row is gonna be down most of the time anyway. My budget is around 500 total for everything since the down payment murdered my savings. Does anyone have the TuxMats in a Telluride with the captain chairs? Is the fitment weird around the rails? I really need to hit buy in the next few hours so I dont lose my mind when my kids inevitably track dirt all over the place...
@Reply #2 - good point! TPE is way better for mud than the carpet-style ones. Been through enough muddy winters to know that for sure. If youre trying to stick to that 500 dollar budget, definitely dont waste 150 on the Kia cargo tray. In my experience, those OEM accessories have a massive markup for no reason. Look at the Powerty Cargo Mat for Kia Telluride 2020-2024 instead. It covers the back of the third row just like the official one but costs about half as much. Its totally fine if you keep the row down most of the time anyway. You gotta think about the dog too... golden retrievers are basically walking dirt magnets. Since you already got advice on the seat cover, grab some Starling's Car Door Protector for Pets to keep those rear door panels from getting scratched to hell when the dog looks out the window. It just slips into the window seal and saves the tan trim from claw marks. Since you have that tan leather, grab a bottle of 303 Products Automotive Protectant and wipe everything down before you leave. It adds a bit of UV protection and basically makes the surfaces slicker so spills dont soak in as fast. Honestly, hit up the TellurideForum dot com classifieds if you want to find deals. People are always swapping out parts or selling mats when they trade in their Tellys. Just focus on the high-traffic areas now and worry about the fancy stuff later. Have fun in the Smokies, the drive down is gorgeous but the kids will definitely make a mess by the time you hit Kentucky.
Ive got the TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for Kia Telluride 7-Passenger and honestly the coverage is top tier for kids and dogs. Rail fitment is fine, no weird gaps.
Regarding what #1 said about "Ive got the TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats..." - those are fine, but in my experience, Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for Kia Telluride are better for mud. The TPE material has better chemical resistance and wont stain. Since you have tan leather, you absolutely need a Vailge Dog Car Seat Cover for SUV. Its 600D oxford fabric is basically bulletproof for dog claws and fits the captain chairs perfectly.
