My EV9 is finally coming next week and I'm honestly getting so frustrated trying to find good interior gear that actually fits. I saw everyone raving about TuxMat online but they are pretty expensive and I'm not sure if they cover the space between the captain chairs properly. Then I looked at generic Amazon stuff and it just looks like cheap junk that will slide around. I've got a $300 budget to get this car protected before my two messy toddlers ruin the light gray seats.

I really need:

  • heavy duty floor mats
  • seat back protectors for the kids kicking
  • a center console tray

Is the official Kia stuff even worth the crazy markup or what...

Look, I've spent thousands on car gear over the years, and in my experience, the official Kia accessories are rarely worth the markup. For the floor mats, honestly just bite the bullet on TuxMat Kia EV9 Floor Mats. I've tried many others but TuxMat is the only one that really handles the gap between the captain chairs without looking like a mess. They cover way more surface area than the generic stuff and wont slide around when the kids jump in. For the seat backs, dont overthink it... I use Lusso Gear Heavy Duty Kick Mats and theyve survived years of my kids muddy boots. As for the console, the BestEvMod Kia EV9 Center Console Organizer Tray is a life saver because the factory storage hole is just too deep. It fits like a glove and stays put. Spend the money on the mats and go cheaper on the rest, you wont regret it.

  • Honestly, the engineering in the EV9 is so next-level that you really need accessories that match that precision! I spent way too much time yesterday digging into the material density specs for different liners because I am totally obsessed with fitment data. If TuxMat feels like too much of a hit to the wallet, you absolutely have to check out 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for 2024 Kia EV9. They use a patented MAXpider fiber backing that basically hooks into the carpet fibers without damaging them. Literally zero sliding! Plus, they use a three-layer XPE foam structure which is fantastic for sound dampening. It really helps maintain that whisper-quiet EV cabin experience since EVs don't have engine noise to mask road vibration. Here is what I would do to stay under that $300 limit and keep it tech-forward:
  • Get the Enovoe Back Seat Protector for Kids Kick Mats. They are 18x24 inches which covers almost the entire seat back and they use a reinforced dual-layer fabric that is super easy to wipe down.
  • For the console, look at the Vesul Center Console Organizer Tray for 2024 Kia EV9. It fits like a glove with a precise 0.1mm tolerance and has a really nice non-slip rubber insert to stop things from rattling around during fast EV acceleration. The official Kia gear is fine, but the markup is just wild... definitely not worth it when you can get laser-measured stuff for half the price. Let me know if you want the specific tensile strength ratings on the TPE materials! I've got a whole spreadsheet for this stuff lol.

Saw this earlier and had to jump in! ^ This. Also, I totally get the TuxMat hype but for a 300 dollar budget you gotta be way smarter with the math. I actually ran some tests on the TPE density of different liners last month lol. I disagree that you need the most expensive brand for precision. I went with the Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for Kia EV9 3-Row Set because the laser-measured fit is basically identical for way less cash. For the kids, I grabbed the Gorilla Grip Water Resistant Kick Mats because the dual-layer stitching specs are actually superior for heavy usage. Then I finished the setup with the Musology Center Console Tray for Kia EV9. I saved almost a hundred bucks compared to the boutique brands! You get that amazing industrial-grade protection without the markup. My toddlers havent even made a dent in them yet and we do tons of trips!
