Honestly I am so incredibly fed up with these factory all-weather mats that the dealership basically forced me to buy when I picked up my Sportage Hybrid last month. I paid like $160 for them and they are absolute garbage. They dont even cover half the floorboards! I live up near Seattle and with all the rain weve been getting lately my car is already starting to look like a swamp inside and its making me so anxious because this is the first nice new car Ive ever owned.
Every time the kids get in the back after soccer practice there is just mud and grass everywhere because the mats dont have any kind of lip on the edges to actually hold the gunk in. It just slides right off onto the beige carpet and I spent two hours yesterday trying to scrub out a stain that I swear is never gonna fully go away. I am literally losing sleep over the thought of the carpet getting ruined before I even hit 2,000 miles. I need something that actually fits the 2024 hybrid model specifically because I know the floor layout is slightly different than the gas version.
I have about $250 to spend and I really need to get this ordered like today because we are supposed to go on a trip to the mountains in two weeks and I know the slush and road salt will just destroy the interior if I dont get better protection. I was looking at WeatherTech but I keep reading reviews saying they curl up at the edges after a while which sounds like a total nightmare for the price. My main requirements are:
Has anyone tried those TuxMat ones or maybe the Lasfit? I saw some people talking about how TuxMat covers almost everything but they look kinda bulky in the pictures... do they actually stay put? I just want something that I can spray down with a hose and not have to worry about my car smelling like wet dog every time it rains. What are you guys using that actually works...
Unfortunately, factory mats were not as good as expected and had issues with coverage. I finally got TuxMat Kia Sportage Hybrid High-Walled Custom Mats. Their laser-measured fit handles the hybrid pan perfectly.
Jumping in... Quick question tho, is yours the HEV or the PHEV? The rear floor pan is actually slightly different between those because of the battery placement.
