Does anyone know which dealerships around the Chicago suburbs actually have Kia Telluride models sitting on the lot right now?? I am super stressed out because I have never done this before and I have no idea where to even start looking.

My husband and I are expecting our third baby in six weeks so we need a bigger car fast but every website I check just says call for availability. I have about 50k saved up but I dont even know if that is realistic anymore. We live near Naperville but I am willing to drive a bit if it means I can actually buy it today.

I really just need:

  • 3 rows of seats
  • Something under 52k

Sorry if this is a dumb thing to ask I just dont want to get tricked...

I actually track local inventory data as a hobby and Gerald Kia of Naperville usually has the best flow, tho you gotta move fast because they sell out in hours!! For your $52k budget, you have two fantastic options sitting on lots right now that fit your 3-row needs perfectly.

This is the value king! You get the 3.8L Lambda II V6 engine with 291 horsepower which is amazing for highway merging. It usually retails around $40k to $42k, leaving you plenty of your $50k savings for baby gear. The 20-inch alloys look sharp but the ride is slightly firmer than the higher trims.

If you want that premium feel, this is the one! It adds the leather seat trim and the power sunroof which I absolutely love. With the active on-demand AWD system, it handles Chicago winters like a champ. These usually land right around $46k to $49k at Raymond Kia in Antioch if you are willing to drive up there. I personally recommend the EX trim because the ventilated front seats are a total lifesaver during Illinois summers, and the acoustic glass makes the cabin whisper quiet for a sleeping baby. Honestly, dont stress too much about the call for availability tags on websites. Just show up with your $50k proof of funds and they will take you seriously! You are definitely gonna find something great.

Ugh, honestly that call for price thing is the worst part of car shopping right now. Ive been looking at data for the Chicago area and unfortunately Kias inventory management is just not as good as expected compared to other brands. Dealers around Naperville like to keep the in transit cars on their sites to bait you in even if they are already sold. Its super frustrating when you are on a tight deadline with a baby coming. If you are really stressed about that 6-week window, you might want to look at the Hyundai Palisade SEL 2024 V6 instead. It is basically the same car underneath as the Telluride but I have seen way more of them actually sitting on lots at places like Happy Hyundai or dArcy Hyundai in Joliet without the crazy markups. They share the same engine and safety tech, but the Palisade usually has a slightly softer ride which is nice for a growing family. If you are dead set on the Kia tho, stop using the dealer websites. Use the Kia.com national inventory search tool directly and filter for On Lot specifically. Its not 100 percent accurate but its way better than the individual dealer pages. Also, definitely check out the Honda Pilot EX-L 2024 V6 as a backup. The removable middle seat in the second row is a literal lifesaver when you are dealing with three car seats and need to get to the back easily. Its usually right around 48k to 50k too. Dont let them trick you into paying over MSRP just because you are in a rush!
