Essential cargo management accessories for a Range Rover PHEV road trip?

Hey everyone! I’m planning a pretty ambitious two-week road trip in my Range Rover PHEV soon, and I’m starting to get a little nervous about space. As much as I love the hybrid setup, the battery placement definitely eats into that sub-floor storage I used to rely on in my previous SUV. With two adults, a teenager, and a medium-sized dog coming along, every inch of cargo space is going to be premium.

I’ve been looking into a few options, but I’m curious what actually works best for the PHEV dimensions. I’m specifically wondering if a dedicated trunk organizer is worth it, or if it just gets in the way of larger suitcases. Also, has anyone found a cargo net or dog guard that fits perfectly without rattling over long distances? I’m also considering a roof box to compensate for the lost interior depth, but I’m worried about how much it might kill my electric range and overall efficiency on the highway.

Does anyone have specific gear recommendations or clever packing hacks for the PHEV models to keep things organized and accessible? I'd love to hear what accessories you consider 'must-haves' for a long haul!

Ok so, I've been driving the PHEV for three years and honestly, the lost depth is a huge pain for road trips. Technical-wise, you gotta maximize vertical space.

I recommend:
• Guardsman Range Rover Sport Dog Guard - Way more solid than generic ones. It doesn't rattle at all, even on gravel.
• YAKIMA SkyBox 16 Carbonite Cargo Roof Box vs Thule Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Carrier - The Yakima has better aerodynamics for the hybrid. You'll lose about 10-15% electric range on the highway tho, which is annoying but better than the Thule's drag.

Basically, skip the floor organizers. Use soft bags to fill the gaps around the dog crate instead!

Sooo I actually dealt with this same headache on our last trip! The battery bump in the PHEV is a total space killer, ngl. Here's what I recommend:

- Honestly, ditch the organizer. I tried the Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer and it just ate up space I needed for big bags. Better to use soft-sided duffels that squish into the gaps.
- For the dog, the Travall Guard Dog Guard TDG1623 is literally the only one that doesn't rattle. It's pricey (like $200ish) but worth it for the peace and quiet.
- I highkey suggest a roof box if you have a dog too. I use the Thule Motion XT XL Rooftop Cargo Carrier 18 cubic feet. It definitely drops the highway efficiency by maybe 10-15%, but it saves your sanity when the cabin isn't packed to the ceiling.

Just pack the heavy stuff low and the light stuff up top and you'll be fine!! gl!
