Hey everyone! I just officially took delivery of my new Lexus RZ 450e last week, and I am absolutely in love with the interior design. The cabin feels so futuristic and premium, but honestly, I’m also a bit terrified of ruining it. Between the unique upholstery materials and that massive panoramic roof, I feel like I need to be proactive about protection before the daily wear and tear starts to show.
I’m currently living in an area where we get a fair amount of rain and mud, so my first priority is definitely the flooring. I’ve looked at the OEM all-weather liners, but I’m curious if brands like TuxMat or WeatherTech have better coverage for the RZ specifically, especially around the dead pedal area. Also, with the radiant heating system under the dashboard, I’m a little worried about whether certain floor mats might interfere with that heat flow or if I need to look for specific 'EV-friendly' designs.
Another concern is the center console and the touchscreens. The piano black trim looks gorgeous but seems like a magnet for fingerprints and micro-scratches. Has anyone found a good screen protector or a pre-cut PPF kit for the interior bits? I’m also wondering about the seats—since the NuLuxe (or Ultrasuede, depending on your trim) feels so soft, should I be looking into a ceramic coating for the fabric to prevent denim dye transfer?
I’m trying to keep my initial spend around $400-$600 for a complete protection setup. For those of you who have been driving the RZ for a few months now, what are the absolute 'must-have' interior accessories you’ve installed to keep it looking showroom new? Are there any specific products I should avoid that don't fit quite right?

> I’m currently living in an area where we get a fair amount of rain and mud, so my first priority is definitely the flooring. Sooo I totally get the anxiety! Honestly, I was so happy when I finally got my TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Lexus RZ 450e because the coverage is basically perfect. They go way higher up the sides than the OEM ones, especially near the dead pedal, which is a lifesaver for mud. Also, the radiant heat still works fine for me, no complaints there! Definitely grab a Spigen Glas.tR Slim Screen Protector for Lexus 14-inch Touchscreen to stop those fingerprints—it literally makes the cabin feel way cleaner. Good luck!!
Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same worry last year when I got mine. Since I'm a bit of a nerd about technical specs, I was super paranoid about the radiant heaters! I actually tested a few setups and found that using 3M Post-it Extreme XL Notes to mock up high-wall mats showed they totally block the heat sensors... it's a legit safety thing because the system can overheat if the airflow is restricted. So basically, I skipped the high walls and went with the Lexus RZ 450e All-Weather Floor Liners because they're designed with the proper clearance for those heating elements. For the screen, I actually used a Vancent Navigation Screen Protector for Lexus RZ to keep it clean. Quick tip: Stick to low-profile mats to keep the radiant heat safe. Also, use a Chemical Guys InnerClean Interior Detailer for that piano black trim—it’s gentle and prevents those micro-scratches. anyway good luck!!
Quick question - which interior trim did you actually end up with?? Because honestly, the approach for NuLuxe is way different than the Ultrasuede stuff. If you've got the Ultrasuede, you gotta be careful with heavy chemical coatings. Also, check if your radiant heat panels are the ones on the steering column too or just the dash. TL;DR: Need your trim specs before recommending a Gtechniq Smart Fabric or Xpel Interior PPF Kit. Basically, the heat dissipation varies by material! gl
In my experience, you really gotta watch out for those radiant heat panels! I actually had some issues with some high-wall liners because they basically blocked the heat flow to my knees—super annoying during winter. Honestly, you dont need "EV-specific" mats, but just make sure the edges aren't so high that they cover the heating elements under the dash and steering column, you know? For the piano black... ugh, it's the worst. I tried a generic screen protector and it was basically trash—bubbles everywhere. Since you're on a $400-$600 budget, I'd say spend about $200 on decent mats and then maybe $100 on a precut interior film kit for the console. You can honestly do the install yourself if you're patient!! Also, regarding the seats? If you have NuLuxe, don't waste money on high-end ceramic stuff. It’s basically high-grade vinyl, so it doesn't "absorb" things the same way as leather. Just get a basic UV-rated cleaner. Save that extra cash for a good cargo tray because the trunk carpet is a total dirt magnet, right?? Good luck with the new ride!!
My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.
