I just picked up my new Lexus UX 300h, and with the summer heat starting to kick in, I really want to protect that nice dashboard and keep the cabin temperature down. I’ve noticed the UX has a somewhat unique windshield shape and a fairly large sensor housing behind the rearview mirror for the safety system, which makes me worried that a generic 'one-size-fits-all' shade from a big-box store just won't cut it.

I’m looking for something that offers a truly snug, edge-to-edge fit without leaving huge gaps around the edges or the mirror. I’ve looked into the official Lexus accessory, but it’s a bit pricey, so I’m wondering if brands like Covercraft or WeatherTech actually fit the 2024/2025 UX 300h model perfectly. I prefer the fold-up accordion style over the twisty-circle ones if possible, as they usually feel a bit more heavy-duty.

Has anyone found a specific brand or model that fits the UX 300h windshield perfectly without interfering with the mirror or dash cam? I’d love to hear what you’re using and if it’s easy to stow away when you have a passenger!

Sooo I've been through this with like three different Lexus models now, and honestly, don't waste your money on the dealership one! For your situation, I've found that AutoTech Park Custom Fit Windshield Sunshade for 2024-2025 Lexus UX is the best bang for your buck. It's basically half the price of the official one (usually around $40-$45 on Amazon) but the fit is actually LEGIT.

Here is why I love it:
* It has a deep cutout for that massive safety sensor housing.
* Way cheaper than Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen.
* It's that thick, roll-up style that blocks 100% of the light.

Seriously, it fits edge-to-edge. Just make sure you get the UX-specific model and not a universal one or it'll just fall down. gl! 👍

Adding my two cents here cuz I actually had a pretty disappointing experience with a few high-end options before finding a decent middle ground. Honestly, spending $80+ on the OEM Lexus one is just robbery imo, but unfortunately, the super cheap ones from the store leave those massive gaps that basically bake your dash anyway.

So for your situation, I would suggest checking out the HeatShield The Original Windshield Sunshade for 2024-2025 Lexus UX. It's a custom-fit roll-up style, which I know you said you prefer accordion, but hear me out—the fitment around that massive Lexus Safety System+ sensor housing is literally perfect. It tucks right under the mirror without pulling it out of alignment, which was a huge issue I had with the generic ones.

If you're dead set on the folding style cuz it's easier to toss in the back seat when you have a passenger, look at the Pigenius Custom Fit Windshield Sunshade for Lexus UX 200/250h/300h. It's like half the price of the big names mentioned earlier and actually feels pretty heavy-duty. My only gripe is it can be a bit stiff at first, but it definitely keeps the cabin temps down significantly better than the flimsy twisty ones. Basically, dont waste ur money on the dealership markup... you can get the same thermal protection for way less. gl! 👍

To add to the point above: I actually have to disagree a bit on just going for the absolute cheapest Amazon option. My last one started sagging in the middle after like three months of Texas heat, which totally defeated the purpose and honestly looked kinda trashy after a while. Maybe consider the Intro-Tech Automotive Custom Fit Folding Sunshade instead. It feels way more substantial than the budget brands mentioned. Be careful with how the edges sit against the pillars tho... some of the ones people recommend leave a tiny gap that lets in way more heat than you'd expect. I'm pretty cautious about anything touching that sensor housing too much, but the Intro-Tech has a really precise cutout that doesn't put pressure on the plastic. It’s usually around $55, so it’s right in that sweet spot. Just make sure to double check your specific trim year cuz the mirror shape can be tricky... it's definitely worth the extra twenty bucks over the really thin ones.

honestly, i feel u... the ux has such a weird mirror housing. i tried WeatherTech SunShade first cuz they're local, but i gotta be careful with the fitment around those safety sensors. the Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen is actually better imo cuz it's a rigid accordion style and leaves zero gap for heat to leak in. just make sure to order for the exact year cuz of the dash cam clearance. gl!
