Hey everyone! Just picked up a new RX and want to keep that luxury cabin looking brand new. I’m especially worried about staining the light leather and scratching that massive infotainment screen. Are there specific all-weather mats or seat covers you guys swear by? What are your must-have interior accessories to prevent long-term wear and tear?

Seconding the recommendation above. I've seen way too many ruined light interiors... honestly it's depressing lol. If you're on a budget, skip the fancy aftermarket mats and just grab Lexus RX All-Weather Floor Liners. They fit the pins perfectly and usually cost less than the boutique brands. Also, for that screen, a basic Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Lexus RX is literally a lifesaver for resale value. Cheap and works!! 👍

Ok so, for your situation, I would suggest prioritizing safety and precise fitment above all else. I mean, you dont want a mat sliding under your brake pedal, right?? I've seen some scary stuff with generic mats. I highkey recommend 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats because they use a patented fiber backing that literally grips the carpet like velcro so they never shift around. Also, for that light leather, you gotta be careful with harsh cleaners that might degrade the factory finish... I'd look into Gyeon Q2 LeatherShield 50ml because it’s a ceramic coating that stops dye transfer without making seats greasy. For the screen, ScreenProtech Lexus RX 2023-2024 Interior Protection Kit is basically the gold standard cuz it covers the screen AND the piano black trim that scratches super easy lol. TL;DR: Get 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for pedal safety and Gyeon Q2 LeatherShield 50ml to block indigo stains.

Honestly, avoid those cheap universal seat covers at all costs. I tried some 'premium' ones and they fit like a diaper... looked so trashy in a Lexus lol. Also, *be careful* with harsh cleaners on that screen; I lowkey ruined the anti-glare coating on mine once. Stick to a dry microfiber or you'll regret it. Custom-fit mats are pricey but 100% worth it for the long-term protection.

Ok so, first off, congrats on the new RX! I've been on these forums for years but honestly, these newer interior materials are a bit of a learning curve for me too... I'm still trying to find the perfect DIY routine. Did ur dealer try to push one of those 'luxury protection packages' on you when you signed? I'm always curious if those are actually worth the markup or if it's just a basic spray-and-wipe job. Basically, I'm a big believer in the DIY route because you can be way more careful than a shop might be. For that massive screen, I’d really recommend getting a ScreenMom Screen Cleaner Kit. It’s super gentle and doesn’t have the alcohols or ammonia that can ruin the anti-glare finish over time. Also, for the dash and the non-leather bits, you might want to try 303 Aerospace Protectant. It basically acts like sunscreen to prevent UV damage and cracking, but it doesn't leave that cheap-looking greasy shine... it keeps it looking matte and factory-fresh. Are you looking to do all the work yourself, or were you thinking about taking it to a professional detailer?

yo, congrats on the RX! basically, light leather is super porous, so indigo from jeans highkey migrates into the grainβ€”it’s called dye transfer. it’s a nightmare to clean if you dont seal it properly. I would suggest:
- A 9H tempered glass screen protector (prevents micro-marring)
- Leather ceramic coating (creates a hydrophobic barrier)
- High-walled liners like TuxMat make sure to avoid harsh cleaners tho, they might strip the factory topcoat. anyway, gl!

Ugh, I totally feel your pain with that light interior... honestly it's a constant battle no matter how much tech data you look at. I spent way too much time researching the exact grain structure and UV resistance ratings of the semi-aniline leather in mine, thinking I could stay ahead of the wear. But man, the reality of daily driving is just brutal. Here is what I've dealt with so far:

  • the side bolsters started showing blue jean transfer within weeks even though I try to be careful.
  • the high-gloss trim near the cupholders is a magnet for micro-scratches that show up in direct sunlight.
  • I tried a DIY cleaning routine and it slightly altered the matte finish on the dash which drives me crazy. I really thought my current setup would keep it showroom perfect, but these materials are just so sensitive to friction. It feels like every time I get in the car I'm accidentally aging it... super frustrating when you're trying to be a perfectionist about it.

tbh the struggle is so real with that light interior... I'm always lowkey panicking when someone wearing dark jeans hops in the passenger seat. I looked at some of those high-end coatings people talk about and my wallet literally cried lol. I'm just happy I didn't fall for the dealer's $1,500 protection package because that's just wild. Even though it's stressful, I've been pretty satisfied just being super careful and using a basic Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner & Conditioner every few weeks. No complaints so far. But man, the constant worry about stains is exhausting. Its like you cant even enjoy the luxury vibe because you're too busy acting like the leather police... basically it's a full time job.
