what is a fair price for a used Lexus RX 350 these days because im honestly about to lose my mind. my old camry finally kicked the bucket and i need a reliable suv for my commute into chicago by next week but every dealer i visit is asking like 28k for a 2017 with 100k miles which feels like a total rip off? i have about 22k saved up and i thought that would be enough for something decent but the market is just insane right now. am i being unrealistic or are these people just greedy... i really need to get this sorted before monday.

Are you open to private sellers? im super happy with my Lexus RX 350 2013 AWD... skipping those markup fees keeps you way under budget while staying safe and reliable.

Like someone mentioned, that 22k budget should be enough if you know where to look. Honestly, those dealers are just trying to capitalize on the fact that people need cars fast. Quick question before I dive in too deep... are you looking strictly at the 2016 and newer ones for the updated look, or do you care more about the tech? Also, is AWD a dealbreaker? Because for Chicago, you really want that extra grip when the slush hits. I have been extremely satisfied with the older generation, specifically something like a 2015 Lexus RX 350 AWD V6. You can usually find those for around 18k to 21k with decent mileage if you look at private sellers or smaller lots. Tbh, the 2017 model you saw is marked up because it has the standard safety suite, but the 2015 is arguably more bulletproof mechanically. If the Lexus badge is too pricey, you could always look at a 2016 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD. It uses the same 3.5L V6 engine and it is much easier to find one in your price range that hasnt been beat to death. Just watch out for the water pump on those higher mileage units... it is a common thing that needs checking. If you can find a one-owner car with service records, you are golden.

> asking 28k for a 2017 I'm very satisfied with the 2014 Lexus RX 350 AWD 3.5L V6. Data proves its reliability. I paid 20k, so your 22k budget is honestly plenty tho.
