I just picked up my new Mazda CX-70 PHEV and I'm absolutely loving the space, but I’m struggling to keep everything organized in that massive cargo area. Since it doesn’t have the third row like the CX-90, there’s tons of room, but my groceries and gym gear just slide everywhere during my commute. I’m specifically looking for something that fits well with the PHEV’s sub-floor storage layout. Are the official Mazda cargo nets and blocks worth the premium, or should I look at aftermarket organizers like WeatherTech? I really want to protect the carpet while keeping things secure. What cargo management setups are you guys using to make the most of the CX-70's layout?
Adding my two cents, I've tried many setups over the years and ur gonna want a liner that doesn't make sub-floor access a pain. Since we love that massive space, maybe check these out: * WeatherTech Cargo Liner HP for Mazda CX-70 - This 'HP' version uses high-friction TPE material. I think it's way grippier than standard plastic liners.
* Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid Base Organizer - It’s heavy-duty and seems to stay put during turns. Honestly, official accessories are overpriced. Does the charger cable fit in the side cubbies??
hey, congrats on the new ride!! i picked up my CX-70 PHEV last month and honestly, that space is huge but stuff moves way too much. since we dont have the 3rd row, the sub-floor access is actually super important for the charging cable and stuff. here is what i found works best: • WeatherTech CargoLiner for Mazda CX-70 + WeatherTech CargoTech Cargo Containment System: this is my current setup and i'm really happy with it. the liner is highkey the best for protecting the carpet from spills or muddy gym gear. the CargoTech blocks have a grippy underside that sticks to the liner (not the carpet), so they dont slide. its a bit of an investment, maybe around $130-160 total, but worth it for the long-term protection. • Mazda CX-70 Cargo Net and Mazda CX-70 Cargo Blocks: i think the official net is okay, but it kinda gets in the way if you're constantly grabbing things. the blocks are basically L-shaped plastic with velcro. they work great on the factory carpet but if u get a rubber mat, they wont stick anymore. I mean, if ur looking for value, the WeatherTech combo works well cuz it protects the floor AND holds gear. it lets me access the sub-floor easily since the liner is flexible enough to fold back. plus it keeps my groceries from flying around every time i hit a corner... definately a must-have for the CX-70 layout. peace 👍
Seconding the recommendation above. Accessing that sub-floor for the charger is huge!! If youre looking to save cash, honestly, skip the pricey dealer gear. * Drive Auto Trunk Organizer - usually $25, decent option.
* Gorilla Grip Non-Slip Shelf Liner - maybe $15? Just cut it to fit. It definately stops the sliding for cheap. It works for me, though idk if a net is better. I'm still learning the CX-70 layout lol. gl!
Just saw this thread. I've been driving Mazdas for over a decade now and honestly, I used to always buy the official dealer accessories because I thought the fit would be better. After years of overpaying, I've realized you can get the same quality for way less if you look at brands like Husky versus the overpriced OEM stuff. Here is how I handled my CX-70 without spending a fortune:
