Hey everyone! I recently picked up a 2024 Mazda3 Sedan, and while I absolutely love the premium feel of the interior, I’m already getting a bit paranoid about the footwells. I live in an area where we get a mix of everything—heavy rain, muddy spring seasons, and the occasional snowy slush. The OEM carpet mats that came with the car look great, but I know they won’t last a single season against the salt and grime without getting ruined.

I’ve been doing some digging online, but I’m torn between a few different options. I’ve seen a lot of people swear by WeatherTech for their durability, but I’ve also heard that TuxMat offers a more 'luxury' look that might match the Mazda’s upscale cabin a bit better. Then there are the official Mazda High Wall All-Weather mats, which I assume have a perfect fit, but I’m not sure if they provide enough coverage on the sides to prevent gunk from leaking onto the actual carpet.

My main priorities are a precise fit (I don’t want anything sliding around near the pedals) and ease of cleaning. I’m also curious about how well these mats hold up over time—do they stay black, or do they start to look grey and chalky after a few washes? I’m willing to spend a bit more for quality, so a budget of around $150–$250 for a full set isn’t out of the question if they are truly 'buy once, cry once' quality.

For those of you who have had your Mazda3 for a while, what are you using to protect your floors? If you’ve tried both the rubber-style trays and the more fabric-like liners, which one do you think suits the sedan better in terms of both protection and aesthetics?

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, TuxMat Custom Floor Mats for Mazda3 Sedan are the gold standard if you want that premium cabin to actually stay premium. But I gotta add another technical option for ya: check out 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Liner for Mazda3. I've used 'em in three different builds and the KAGU texture is AMAZING because it's grippy, not plastic-y like WeatherTech, so it won't get that chalky grey look after a few salt-heavy winters. Plus, they're super easy to spray down at the car wash. Seriously, both are GREAT calls, but for the sedan, the 3D MAXpider looks lowkey like it came from the factory! 👍

Honestly, after driving Mazdas for over a decade, I've learned the hard way that safety and fitment are everything. People love the look of liners, but I've had issues with some brands warping over time and catching on the pedals—which is terrifying.

For your 2024, I'd suggest looking at these two:

1. WeatherTech FloorLiner for Mazda3 Sedan - These are the industry standard for a reason. They use laser-measured tech so they WONT slide around. They're a stiffer material though, so they can feel a bit industrial compared to the Mazda's nice interior.

2. Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats for Mazda3 - These are my personal pick. They're a bit more rubberized, so they don't get that chalky grey look as fast as others, and the 'stay-put' nibs on the bottom are seriously the best for preventing movement.

I mean, TuxMat is cool, but in heavy slush, I prefer the deep channels of the WeatherTech FloorLiner for Mazda3 Sedan to keep the gunk away from my pant legs. Just my two cents!

In my experience, you're 100% right to be cautious about those OEM carpets... they look nice for like a week and then the salt just destroys them. Over the years, I've tried basically everything, and for the 2024 Mazda3, I'd seriously recommend TuxMat Custom Mat Full Set for Mazda3 Sedan 2019-2024.

I've used WeatherTech FloorLiner Floor Mats before, but honestly, they tend to curl at the edges after a few summers and look kinda industrial. Since you want to keep that premium vibe, TuxMats are the way to go because:

1. They cover almost every inch of the floorboard—literally up to the trim.
2. They dont get that chalky grey look; they stay black and clean up with just a damp cloth.
3. The fit is so tight they wont slide anywhere near your pedals, which is a big safety thing for me.

If you want a more rugged rubber feel, the Mazda3 High Wall All-Weather Floor Mats are decent, but they just dont have the side coverage of the TuxMats. If youre dealing with slushy boots, you want those high walls. GL! 👍

Just sharing my experience: I've spent way too much time and money over the years trying to keep my Mazda floors clean. Honestly, it's been kinda disappointing seeing how some big-name brands fail.

* **WeatherTech**: These were my go-to for years, but unfortunately, they tend to look chalky after a single winter.
* **OEM High Wall**: I tried these recently and the fit is literal perfection, but they just don't cover enough of the side carpet for my liking.

Basically, I’ve found that the rigid tray-style liners are great for protection but usually look pretty beat up after some heavy salt use.

Would love to know this too
