I recently picked up an ND Miata and want to spice things up without ruining the daily driveability. I’m considering starting with some coilovers or maybe a cat-back exhaust for better sound. Since I have a $1,500 budget, which performance mods actually offer the best bang for your buck in terms of handling and fun?

Ok so, I've spent way too much time tuning NDs and honestly, $1,500 is a tricky spot. You're tempted by budget coilovers, but unfortunately, most under a grand ride like absolute trash. I had issues with cheap dampening curves ruining the daily drive... they were not as good as expected for real-world roads. For the best bang-for-buck handling, you gotta go with a solid sway bar setup first. I highkey recommend the Progress Technology Anti-Roll Bar Kit Mazda MX-5 ND because it kills the body roll without making your spine hurt. Pair that with Koni Sport Yellow Adjustable Shocks Mazda MX-5 ND and some Progress Technology Lowering Springs Mazda MX-5 ND. That combo is literally better than any entry-level coilover kit. If you want sound, the Good-Win Racing RoadsterSport SuperStreet Single Tip Exhaust is the move. It's got a great growl but won't drone on the highway. gl!

I'd actually suggest a different approach—safety first!! Honestly, before ur dropping $1,500 on suspension, grab some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 205/45ZR17 tires and Hawk Performance HB789N.570 HP Plus Brake Pads. Better grip and heat management is basically the best bang for ur buck for backroads without compromising reliability or daily comfort tbh... gl!

• Honestly, stick with brands like Flyin' Miata or Goodwin Racing... they're basically the gold standard for daily-friendly dampening curves.
