I’ve been loving my EQE so far, but with the summer heat kicking in, the cabin is getting incredibly hot while parked. I’m looking for a high-quality sunshade that actually fits the massive windshield properly. I’ve tried a generic 'large' one from a local shop, but the sensors behind the rearview mirror make it sit awkward and it keeps falling down. Does anyone have experience with the official Mercedes-Benz version, or is there a custom-fit brand like Covercraft or WeatherTech that handles the EQE’s unique dimensions better? I'm specifically looking for something easy to fold and store in the door pocket. Any recommendations for a shade that provides total coverage without gaps?

Been using this for years, no complaints
oh man, i totally feel u on the heat thing... the EQE is literally like a greenhouse once the sun starts hitting that massive windshield!! i mean, before you go out and drop a bunch of money on the official mercedes-benz one or a custom-fit brand, i gotta ask a couple things because i had a pretty disappointing experience with a 'high-end' shade recently.
first off, are you looking for something that's a hard accordion-style fold or one of those wire-loop ones that you twist? i ask because i actually tried a premium custom-fit one—kinda like the ones from covercraft—and honestly it was a total pain to store. the EQE door pockets are decent but they're weirdly shaped, and if the shade is too thick, it just wont fit. plus, i had issues with the sensors too... even the 'custom' ones sometimes dont leave enough room for that huge camera housing behind the mirror, which makes the whole thing sag and look terrible.
also, what’s your priority here? are you more worried about the absolute max heat reduction (which usually means a thicker, bulkier shade) or is the 'total coverage' with zero gaps the most important part for you?? i've noticed that even the tiniest gap around the mirror lets in sooo much heat, but the easy-to-fold ones usually have the worst gaps... it's like a trade-off that i havent figured out yet tbh. let me know what you're leaning towards and i can maybe tell you if the one i struggled with is worth the hassle!! peace

Honestly, I spent weeks obsessing over this because the sensor array behind the mirror is a total nightmare for fitment. For your situation, safety and reliability are huge—generic shades that don't stay put can actually damage the trim or snag the camera housing if they fall while you're driving. I tried a cheap one and it almost knocked my dashcam loose, so I went the custom route.
Here's what I recommend after testing a few:
* Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen for Mercedes-Benz EQE - This is the gold standard. It's rigid, meaning it won't sag into the sensors, and the foam core has actual insulation specs to protect the dash electronics from heat soak.
* WeatherTech CustomFit SunShade for Mercedes-Benz EQE - This one is more flexible and easier to roll up, plus it has a silver/black side for winter/summer use.
I eventually stuck with the Covercraft. It's a bit bulky for the door pocket (tbh it usually ends up in the back seat floor), but the precise cutout around the ADAS sensors means total coverage with zero gaps. It keeps the cabin significantly cooler, which basically saves your leather and tech from frying in the long run. Good luck!
Tbh I've had my EQE for over a year now and went through three different shades before settling. If your looking for something that specifically fits in the door pocket, you gotta be careful with the custom rigid ones because they're basically impossible to tuck away. I started with the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Sunshade and while the fit is 100% perfect, it's a total pain to store. It basically has to live on the back floorboards because it won't fit anywhere else. I eventually switched to the WeatherTech SunShade which is a roll-up style. While it doesn't fit in the door pocket perfectly, it fits way better behind the seat or in the trunk. If you absolutely MUST have it in the door pocket, your only real option is a wire-frame style like the Autogine Windshield Sun Shade. Most of those are generic, but if you find the one cut specifically for the EQE, it has a velcro notch for the sensor array. It’s pretty much the only one I’ve found that provides total coverage but still twists down small enough to hide away. Honestly, with the heat these days, getting something with the reflective silver backing is SO much better than the basic fabric ones.
