Best aero wheel covers for improving Mercedes EQE range?

I recently picked up a Mercedes EQE 350+, and while the range is already solid, I’m planning some long-distance road trips and want to maximize efficiency as much as possible. I’ve noticed the stock wheels aren't the most aerodynamic, and I've heard that switching to dedicated aero covers can reduce drag significantly at highway speeds. Does anyone have experience with specific brands that fit the 19 or 20-inch OEM wheels? I’m looking for something that balances a sleek, premium look with actual performance gains in Wh/mi. Has anyone seen a measurable boost in range after installing them, and which specific covers would you recommend for the best build quality?

Respectfully, I’d consider another option before you pull the trigger on those snap-on covers. I know everyone says they’re the best range hack, but honestly, I’ve had a different experience with aftermarket aero bits. I’m a bit of a safety-first person and, unfortunately, the set I tried on a previous car felt super flimsy. They actually ended up scratching the finish on my expensive OEM rims because of road grit getting trapped underneath. Not as good as expected, ngl.

Also, I’m highkey worried about brake cooling. When ur doing long-distance trips, especially through hilly areas, you need that airflow to keep things from overheating. IIRC, some users on the German forums mentioned that certain solid covers can trap heat, which is a big NO for me on a heavy car like the EQE. I think the risk to your braking performance might outweigh the 2-3% range gain you’d get.

Instead of covers, maybe look into some premium low-rolling-resistance tires? I heard Michelin or Continental have EV-specific lines that help with Wh/mi without compromising the look or safety. Or just stick with the stock 19s and adjust ur speed by 5mph—it basically does the same thing for range without the headache. Idk, just seems safer than trusting some random plastic clips on a $70k Mercedes... stay safe out there! 👍

Sooo I totally get the range anxiety for road trips, but honestly, the EQE is already a beast. I've been super happy with mine! If you're looking for a budget-friendly way to squeeze out more miles without dropping $2k on new rims, aero covers are basically the best hack.

I've experimented a bit and here's what worked for me:

• For the 19-inch wheels, I highkey recommend looking at EVANNEX Aero Wheel Covers for Mercedes EQE. They're usually around $150-$200 for a set. I noticed about a 3-5% efficiency gain at highway speeds (75mph), which is actually decent for the price.
• Another solid budget pick is Mayde 19-Inch Aero Hubcaps for Mercedes. These are often on sale for under $150. They look surprisingly premium, almost like the OEM AMG wheels, and they're basically a snap-on install.

Ngl, you wont see a massive jump in the city, but on long hauls? It adds up. Plus, they protect your actual rims from curb rash... total lifesaver tbh. Good luck!

Quick question - are you looking for a permanent wheel swap or just some snap-on covers for your trips? I'm pretty new to the EV world but I've been super happy with how much range I've squeezed out of mine on a budget!!

I looked into a few options and basically found two ways to go:

* **EVBase Tesla Style Aero Covers for Mercedes EQE 19 inch**: These are great because they're way cheaper than new rims. They look pretty sleek and honestly I've had no complaints with the build quality for the price.
* **Mandrus 20 inch Aero Wheels for Mercedes**: A bit more of an investment, but they're a full wheel replacement. It's a premium look and definitely feels more solid than a cover, though it'll cost you way more.

Idk if you're trying to keep the cost low or if you're ready to drop some serious cash, so let me know which direction youre leaning toward! gl!

Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same process last year with my EQE, and honestly, it was kind of a headache... unfortunately. I’m a bit of a stickler for technical specs and safety, so I spent weeks looking into how aero covers affect brake cooling. See, when you block off those spokes to reduce the drag coefficient (Cd), youre also trapping a ton of heat inside the wheel well.

I tried out some generic EVBase 19-inch Aero Wheel Covers for a bit, but I had issues with them clicking and vibrating at highway speeds. It felt super sketchy, so I pulled them off after one trip. I mean, the efficiency gain was there—I saw maybe a 3-4% drop in Wh/mi—but the build quality just wasnt as good as expected for a car this expensive. Plus, I noticed some light scratching on the OEM finish where the clips attached, which was heartbreaking.

If you really wanna do it right without compromising the luxury feel, I eventually just looked into the Mercedes-Benz OEM 19-inch 5-Twin-Spoke Aero Wheels. They have those integrated plastic inserts that are literally engineered for the airflow of this specific chassis. It’s way more expensive than a snap-on cover, but after my bad experience with aftermarket plastics, I lowkey feel like the factory route is the only way to ensure the sensors and brake thermals stay within spec. If you do go aftermarket, definitely look for something with high-quality ABS and foam padding to protect your rims! gl!
