honestly fed up with these local listings i swear people just lie for fun at this point. ive been looking for a clean e350 or maybe a glc300 for like three weeks now and every single time i go to look at one in person its a total disaster. last guy told me the car was mint and i drove two hours out to jersey city just to find out the engine was making this weird clicking sound and the clean title he mentioned on the phone was actually a rebuilt one from a flood. like why even lie about that? you know im gonna check the vin man.

im trying to stay under $25k and i really need to find something by the end of the month because my current honda is literally leaking oil onto my driveway and the transmission is starting to slip so im on a bit of a clock here. i just want a reliable daily driver that wont leave me stranded on the parkway but looking through craigslist and facebook marketplace is just making me depressed. its all scams or dealers pretending to be private sellers who then tack on five grand in fees the second you sit down in their office.

where are you guys actually finding legit cars these days? i looked at bring a trailer but everything there seems way overpriced or like a collectors item and i just need a normal car for work. are there specific sites that actually verify the sellers or at least have some kind of protection? i dont mind paying a little more for peace of mind if it means i dont have to deal with another shady curbstoner in a parking lot at 9pm. someone told me about shift or carvana but ive heard mixed things about their inspections lately and i really want a benz that was actually taken care of by the previous owner. what websites are actually worth the time for a used mercedes that isnt a total lemon...

man i totally feel your pain with the jersey city curbstoners lol. if you want a benz that isnt a disaster, honestly skip the general sites and hit up the MBWorld enthusiast forums or even the Mercedes-Benz Club of America classifieds!! those guys are absolute nerds about maintenance records and oil change intervals which is exactly what you need. for that 25k budget you can find a killer Mercedes-Benz E350 W212 2014-2016 which is basically the most reliable E-class ever made imo!! i also swear by using the advanced filters on CarGurus Used Car Search because their algorithm actually factors in local market data and specific trim levels. since you are on a clock, look for listings with a free carfax included... it saves so much money on vin checks. also, grab an iCarsoft MB V3.0 Diagnostic Scanner to bring with you! it scans every single module and will catch those hidden codes that shady sellers try to clear before you show up. you got this, dont settle for a lemon!
