Hey everyone! I’ve been driving my Mitsubishi Mirage G4 for a few months now, and while I absolutely love the fuel efficiency and how easy it is to park, I’m struggling a bit with the trunk space. As most of you know, the G4 has a surprisingly deep trunk for a subcompact, but it’s quite narrow and deep. Right now, every time I take a corner, I can hear my groceries, emergency kit, and gallon of windshield washer fluid sliding from one side to the other. It’s driving me crazy!

I’m looking for some solid recommendations on trunk organizers that actually fit well in our specific trunk dimensions. Since the G4's trunk opening is a bit higher and the space isn't as wide as a full-size sedan, I’m worried about buying a generic one from Amazon that ends up being too bulky or prevents me from reaching the spare tire well easily.

I’m specifically looking for something that is sturdy enough to hold heavier items without collapsing, but ideally collapsible itself for those times I need to fit a large suitcase in there. It would be a huge plus if it has some kind of non-slip bottom or straps to secure it to the side cargo hooks, because the floor carpet in the Mirage is pretty slick. My budget is around $40–$60, but I’m willing to spend a bit more if it’s a perfect fit that won't wear out in six months.

Has anyone found a specific brand or model that fits the G4's contours perfectly without wasting too much space? Also, do you prefer the rigid box-style organizers or the hanging ones that attach to the back of the rear seats? I’d love to hear what you guys are using to keep your gear from flying around back there!

Ok so I went through this last year. Honestly, I'm a safety nerd and was sooo worried about a heavy washer fluid gallon becoming a projectile in a crash. After trying a few setups, I ended up with the Fortem Car Trunk Organizer with Straps and Non-Slip Bottom because the safety tie-downs actually stay tight on the G4's slick floor.

1. Use the side cargo hooks for the straps to keep it from sliding during hard braking.
2. Keep your heaviest gear in the center compartment to balance the weight.

For your situation, I'd highkey recommend the Starling's Car Trunk Organizer with Straps. It's usually around $35-$45 on Amazon and literally handles those deep G4 corners like a champ. I'm a bit of a storage geek and what I love is the non-slip bottom combined with the tie-down straps—it actually stays put on that slick Mirage carpet!

It's super sturdy with reinforced base plates so it wont collapse under a heavy washer fluid gallon, but it folds flat in seconds if you gotta fit a suitcase. Plus, it's narrow enough that you can still reach the spare tire well without moving the whole thing. Ngl, it's a total game changer for the grocery runs!

Sooo I actually had this exact issue when I first got my G4... literally everything was sliding around cuz of that slick carpet lol. After trying a few cheap bins, I finally grabbed the Drive Auto Trunk Organizer with Straps and honestly, it's been perfect. It was only about $25 which is well under ur budget, and it's super sturdy with those tie-down straps that hook right into the Mirage's side cargo points. I keep a gallon of fluid and my tools in there and it basically DOES NOT move. Plus, it folds flat when I gotta haul big stuff. Best value I've found for the price!! gl!

Quick question - how heavy is ur gear? The TrunkCrrate Pro Multi Compartment Organizer is sooo rigid compared to the lighter Honey-Can-Do Folding Trunk Organizer, but both fit that deep G4!!
