So I finally got a new Mitsubishi Outlander and honestly it is the nicest thing I have ever owned and I am kind of terrified of ruining it already. My last car was a total mess but I want to keep this one nice but I have no idea where to even start with like, stuff for the inside. I was looking at floor mats because we live near Seattle and it rains literally all the time so the kids are always getting mud everywhere after soccer but then I saw people talking about all-weather liners and I dont know if that is different or if they just mean the rubber ones?
My logic was just to get whatever is cheapest on Amazon but then I realized the Outlander has those tiny seats in the way back and I dont know if regular mats even fit back there or if I need a special set. Plus the center console area looks like it would get scratched so easily and I saw these little covers for it but I dont know if they are worth it or just look cheap and tacky. I have about $300 saved up to spend on making the inside more durable but I am super confused about what brands are actually good or if I should just go back to the dealership and pay them to do it? Sorry if this is a really basic question but I just dont want to buy the wrong thing and have it not fit the 2024 model...

^ This. Also, if you are worried about scratching that center console, you gotta be careful with the infotainment screen too. I learned the hard way with my last SUV that those glossy screens are basically magnets for tiny scratches from rings or even just dust when you wipe them down. Since you have $300 to work with, I would suggest grabbing something like the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Mitsubishi Outlander 9-Inch Infotainment. It is way cheaper than replacing a scratched screen later and honestly it keeps the fingerprints down too. I totally get the kids and mud struggle... Seattle is brutal on interiors. Instead of the dealership mats which are usually overpriced and dont cover enough, maybe look at OEDRO All-Weather Floor Mats for 2022-2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. I used these for a while and they are basically just as good as the big names but leave you with more cash for other stuff. Speaking of which, since your kids do soccer, the back of your seats are gonna get trashed. I would definitely pick up some Lusso Gear Kids Kick Mats Car Seat Back Protectors. They are super cheap and save you so much scrubbing later on. Just make sure whatever you buy explicitly says it fits the 2022-2024 models because the redesign changed everything. Stay away from the dealership for this stuff tho, they will eat your whole budget on just the mats alone... ngl its a total rip. I would also suggest checking if the mats include the third row coverage specifically because some cheap sets only do the front two rows.

Congrats on the new ride! Honestly, the Outlander is such an amazing SUV and you are gonna love it! If youre dealing with Seattle rain and soccer kids, skip the cheap universal mats and get actual custom liners. They have these high walls that basically turn your floor into a bucket for mud. To add to the point above: My experience with generic covers was pretty bad because they just trapped crumbs underneath... total pain to clean tbh. Before you spend that cash, are you mainly worried about deep scratches from keys or just fingerprints and dust? It helps to know if you need thick protection or just something thin for the dash.

Late to the party but I gotta chime in on the mats. Spent way too much time comparing technical specs between the big brands when I first got mine. Basically, you have the hard plastic types like WeatherTech FloorLiner 3D for 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander versus the more premium-look ones. The TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for 2022-2024 Mitsubishi Outlander 3-Row Set is what I finally settled on because the coverage is insane. Most mats leave gaps near the seat rails, but these actually tuck in under the plastic trim. If you have kids in soccer, that extra coverage is non-negotiable imo because mud somehow always finds a way. Also, dont sleep on the Mitsubishi Genuine Accessories Cargo Tray for Outlander. Unfortunately, I had some real issues with those budget-friendly universal options. They never stay in place and honestly just look cheap after a week. Its frustrating when you spend money and it still looks bad. Definitely check out the official Mitsubishi parts diagrams online to see how the OEM stuff sits first. Quick question tho, are you actually gonna use the third row often, or will it stay folded for more cargo space?
