What are the best budget-friendly accessories for a Mitsubishi Mirage G4 that actually fit and wont fall apart in ten minutes? I just picked up a used 2021 G4 and man the interior is just so plain and plastic-y it drives me crazy. I have maybe 200 bucks to spend right now because my insurance went up and I really need to make this car feel less like a rental and more like my own. I spend like two hours a day in this thing commuting through stop and go traffic in Phoenix and it gets so hot and the sun just beats down on everything.

I did some looking around online and honestly its a mess. I saw those center console armrests on eBay and Amazon for like 35 dollars but then I read a forum thread where people said they wobble like crazy or you have to drill into the plastic which I really dont want to do to a car I just got. It feels like everything for the Mirage is either super expensive or just total garbage. Then there is the floor mat situation. Everyone says get WeatherTech but I dont have two hundred bucks just for mats right now. I looked at some universal ones at the local shop but they never seem to fit the footwell of the Mirage because its so narrow and they just slide around under the pedals which feels dangerous honestly.

I really need suggestions for things that actually work:

  • A center armrest that actually stays put without drilling if that even exists
  • decent floor mats that wont break the bank but also wont slide under my brakes
  • a phone mount that wont block the AC vents because I need that air in this heat
  • maybe some seat covers that dont look like baggy trash

I also saw some people talking about those window rain guards or deflectors but are the cheap stick-on ones even worth it or do they just fly off on the highway? I feel like every time I find something cheap the reviews are either fake or people saying it broke immediately. It feels impossible to find stuff for this car that isnt either total junk or way too expensive for what the car is worth. I just want it to be comfortable for my commute without spending a fortune...

Forget the wobbly armrests for now and prioritize that heat! Grab the Scosche MagicMount Pro Dash immediately. It uses high-temp adhesive so it wont melt off your dash in Phoenix! For the floors, I love the Motor Trend FlexTough Plus Deep Dish mats. You just trim them to the exact specs of the G4 footwell. They are heavy-duty and wont budge under your pedals!

Coming back to this... you definitely need a EcoNour Car Windshield Sun Shade for that Phoenix heat. Honestly keeps the plastic dash from melting. For seat covers, FH Group Universal Fit Flat Cloth Seat Covers are cheap and fit the Mirage narrow seats okay if you tighten them down. Also check RockAuto for WellVisors Taped-On Side Window Deflectors cuz they actually stay on at highway speeds unlike the generic brands.

> I saw those center console armrests on eBay and Amazon... they wobble like crazy Be careful with those. I tried a similar setup and the lateral force eventually stripped my console housing. I would suggest skipping it. For the floor, compare the Husky Liners Weatherbeater Front and Second Seat Floor Liners vs the FH Group Heavy Duty Tall Channel Rubber Floor Mats. Make sure to check the nibbed backing on the FH Group ones. The Husky ones fit the Mirage contour better, which avoids pedal interference. Safety over aesthetics every time, ngl.

> I really need suggestions for things that actually work... I totally get where youre coming from with the plastic-y feel. I spent months trying to fix my G4 on a budget too. Tbh those cheap armrests on eBay are a disaster... I tried one and it just rattled till I took it off. Just dont even bother. I am super satisfied with my SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats 2 Row Liner Set for 2017-2024 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 tho. They are way cheaper than the big name brands but still laser-measured so they lock into place and dont slide around your pedals. It really makes the cabin feel more solid. Since you are roasting in Phoenix, definitely look into the Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen. It fits the windshield perfectly with zero gaps. It works so much better than those flimsy silver twisty ones and actually keeps the steering wheel from burning your hands. No complaints at all after a year of using mine in the desert.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I am honestly in the exact same boat with my G4 and it is seriously frustrating trying to find stuff that does not feel like a safety hazard. I live in a similar climate and the way the interior just radiates heat is crazy, but I am super paranoid about putting cheap stuff in there that might fail while I am driving. Like those universal mats? I tried some generic ones and they moved an inch every time I hit the brakes, which is a total death trap tbh. I ended up looking for something with a much more aggressive backing. If you are worried about the sliding, I have been looking at the BDK MT-641 Metallic Detail Heavy Duty Rubber Floor Mats because they have those deep shark-like+nibs+on+the+bottom&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">shark-like nibs on the bottom that really bite into the Mirage thin carpet. For the phone, I totally get not wanting to block the AC. I tried a vent mount once and the phone literally overheated in ten minutes because the heater was on, then blocked the cold air in summer. I think a dash mount like the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dashboard & Windshield Mount is way better since it keeps the phone in your line of sight without starving you of airflow. It is just hard finding things that actually fit the narrow dimensions of this car without it looking like a mess...
