I just picked up my new 911 and I'm already terrified of rock chips on that low front bumper. I’ve been researching PPF, but I’m honestly overwhelmed by the brand options out there. I’ve heard names like Xpel Ultimate Plus and SunTek Ultra thrown around, but I’m looking for something that offers the best clarity and guaranteed self-healing properties. Since the Porsche front end has some pretty complex curves and air intakes, I need a film that's known for being pliable and virtually invisible once installed. Does anyone have long-term experience with specific brands on their Porsche? Which PPF brand would you recommend for the best balance of durability and a high-gloss finish?
Curious about one thing: what color is your 911? If it's a darker shade like Jet Black Metallic, you're gonna want something with high clarity to avoid that orange peel look.
Aside from Xpel, check out SunTek Reaction PPF or STEK DYNOshield. STEK is literally incredible for a high-gloss finish—it basically looks like glass and has a super hydrophobic top coat built in. Is it a daily driver or just for weekends? tbh that totally changes which film thickness you should aim for!
Saved for later, ty!
Honestly, I've tried many films over the years, but for my 911, I went with Xpel Ultimate Plus. It's basically the gold standard cuz it stretches way better around those tricky Porsche intakes than cheaper stuff. Ngl, it's a bit pricier, but the self-healing actually works... literally watched swirls vanish in the sun. Just make sure ur installer is legit tho, that's what you're really paying for. 👍
