Best off-roading gear recommendations for the Rivian R1T Quad-Motor?

Hey everyone! I finally took delivery of my R1T Quad-Motor and I’m itching to hit some moderate trails, but I want to make sure I’m properly prepared for the extra weight of this beast. Since space is key, I’m looking for gear that fits perfectly in the Gear Tunnel or the frunk without shifting around. Specifically, has anyone found a set of recovery boards that mount cleanly, or perhaps a high-quality tire deflator that works well with the Rivian's stock 20-inch wheels? I'm also curious if people are carrying a secondary portable air compressor or just relying on the built-in one for airing back up. What are your absolute must-have gear recommendations for a serious off-road weekend?

Saw this earlier but just now responding! Honestly, I tried relying on the built-in air compressor during a trip to Moab last month and it was soooo slow. Like, it works in a pinch, but airing up all those tires takes ages and I was worried about it overheating lol. Respectfully, I'd consider another option rather than just using the stock system for every trip.

I've found that saving your truck's internal pump and grabbing some budget-friendly gear is way more practical:
* Deflator: Boulder Tools Heavy Duty Tire Pressure Deflator Gauge ($25ish) is a total lifesaver and super accurate.
* Compressor: GSPSCN Silver Tire Inflator Heavy Duty Double Cylinders 12V 150PSI is amazing for about $70 and way faster than the built-in one.
* Boards: Skip the $300 brands and get X-BULL New Generation Recovery Tracks Sand Mud Snow Track for like $80.

Basically, dont feel like u gotta spend thousands to get started. Highkey, these cheaper options work just as well for moderate trails! gl!

yo!! similar situation here - i went through this last weekend! honestly, i was sooo worried about the weight since it's basically a tank. i just used the built-in air pump and it got reallyyy hot... like, i was actually scared it'd break and leave me stranded!! i learned that for such a heavy truck, having backup stuff for safety is a total priority. being stuck out there would actually be a nightmare lol!!

Yo! Congrats on the new beast!! Seriously, the R1T is basically a cheat code for trails. Before I dive in, you gotta realize that off-roading an EV is a whole different ballgame cuz of that massive weight. Being nearly 7,000 lbs means if you get stuck, youre REALLY stuck, so having the right recovery gear is like, highkey the most important thing for peace of mind lol.

When I first took mine out, I was super worried about the Gear Tunnel getting messy or things sliding around. Honestly, I found that the secret is using those rubberized mats first. For the recovery boards, the ones I got are those famous orange ones everyone uses... they actually fit perfectly flat on the floor of the gear tunnel! For airing down, I started with a cheap set of screw-on deflators but they took foreverrr. I eventually switched to a high-quality kit that pulls the valve core out. It makes such a difference when youre trying to get those 20-inch tires down to 20 PSI quickly.

About the air compressor... I actually just rely on the built-in one! It’s really decent, though it gets a bit warm and loud after the third tire. I thought about a portable one but space is so tight in the frunk once you pack a recovery bag and a first aid kit. My current setup is still a bit of a work in progress since I'm still learning, but it’s been amazing so far. Just take it slow and enjoy the silence of the motors! Good luck dude!
