I just got a 2021 WRX and I need it to feel more alive for my commute through Boston. I have about $1500 and I want to get this done before a road trip in two weeks so its kinda urgent. I read that the Cobb Accessport is the way to go but then I see people saying it voids the warranty or causes knock with the OTS tunes. Im looking at:

  • Cobb Accessport
  • Short throw shifter
  • New bypass valve

Im just totally lost on what actually improves performance without making the car a nightmare to drive every day... what should I actually prioritize?

Building on the earlier suggestion, I love saving cash by doing the Cobb Tuning Stage 1+ Drivetrain Package first! Its amazing and feels fantastic.

man, i remember when i first got into my wrx and thought the same thing. honestly, i wasted so much cash on stuff that turned out to be totally mediocre. unfortunately, those off-the-shelf tunes most people swear by ended up giving me a lot of anxiety with weird feedback knock numbers every time the weather changed. it wasnt as good as expected and i spent more time staring at monitors than enjoying the drive. had issues with a generic short shifter too that basically turned my gearbox into a box of rocks... felt like i was stirring a bucket of gravel. before you drop that cash, i gotta know... are you looking for raw straight-line speed or are you more about improving the tactile feel of the car? also, are you staying on the stock tires for that road trip or are you looking to upgrade the rubber too?
