I just picked up a 2024 WRX last week and honestly it feels a bit sluggish in the mid-range especially out here in Denver with the elevation. I have a track day coming up in exactly two weeks and I really want to get some extra power before I hit the pavement. I spent like five hours last night reading forums and it seems like everyone is torn between the JB4 tuner and the Cobb Accessport but honestly Im more confused than when I started.
Some guys say the Accessport is the gold standard but then I saw a post saying the 2024 models have some weird ecu locks that make it a pain or might void my warranty faster than a piggyback kit like the JB4. Then theres the whole intake situation... saw a video saying the stock box is fine but others swear by the Perrin setup for the sound and throttle response. My budget is around $1200 for now and I just need to know whats actually gonna give me a noticeable boost without blowing up my engine or making it impossible to pass emissions later. Is it even worth doing an intake right now or should I just stick to a tuner and maybe some better brake pads for the track? What specific performance accessories are actually worth it for the 2024 model right now? I'm running out of time to order stuff if I want it installed by next weekend...
I've tried many setups over the years and heat kills cars. Are you swapping your fluid?
Unfortunately, I had issues with flashy intakes causing lean codes, so they werent as good as expected for the price tbh. I wasted way too much money before realizing the factory box is actually decent. For track days at high elevation, safety matters more than raw power.
