My lease is up in three weeks and im honestly panicking because I need a car for my commute from San Jose to SF. Im stuck between just getting a current inventory Model Y with the 1.99% promo or waiting for the Juniper refresh because I really want that ambient lighting and better suspension. Some people say its coming any day now while others say 2025 so im spiraling. I checked out the Ioniq 5 too but the tech just doesnt feel as snappy as Tesla. If I can find a Juniper before the end of the month I'd pay MSRP but i dont even know if they're available to order yet... anyone seen one in the wild or heard of early deliveries?

Look, being direct here: you arent gonna find a Juniper refresh for sale anywhere in the US by the end of the month. Tesla has been pretty clear that the North American refresh isnt hitting until early 2025 at the earliest. If your lease is up in three weeks, waiting for a car that doesnt officially exist yet is a recipe for disaster. The current Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD 2024 actually has some technical advantages you might want to consider. Since they moved to the HW4 computer suite and the upgraded comfort suspension—not quite the Highland feel, but way better than the 2021 builds—the ride quality is actually decent. Plus, that 1.99 percent promo is basically free money compared to the rates you will get when the new model finally drops. Make sure to be careful about the Hyundai IONIQ 5 Limited AWD 2024 because while the 800V architecture is technically superior for charging speeds, the software lag you noticed is a hardware limitation on their infotainment SoC. If you really want the ambient lighting and ventilated seats, you could wait, but you will be paying full MSRP plus high interest. I've seen the specs on the Chinese refresh leaks and honestly, the current model with some Hansshow LED Ambient Lighting Tesla Model Y added later might be the smarter play. Just grab the inventory deal now before the promo ends and you are stuck without a ride for that San Jose to SF commute. You dont want to be renting a car for months while waiting for a delivery window that might not even open until spring.
